As far as i know, all the villains that are most famous are dead now:

Ayatollah khomeini:1989
Saddam hussein:A few years ago
Bin ladden:Recently shot
Gaddafi:Now dead

Who is left? Does this mean that maybe these countries may become safe to travel to in the future? After all,its kind of hard to lead a war without a leader.

Hopefully in the future it will become safe so people can visit these countries safely and do business and even see the famous monuments. Also, there may be dinosaur bones we haven't uncovered in the desert of ancient creatures millions of years old,but its impossible if there is the threat of being killed.

Well, we DO have the problem with Al Qaida (sp?) getting a new leader every time one is shot, and even without AQ (Al Qaida, not Adventure Quest), the world would still be full of villains.

Kind of like D&D: As long as people keep creating...

Still,it opens up a possibility for peace.

I heard that the death of gaddafi would help some problems in libya.
The death of saddam and his son certainly got rid of one problem, but i hope that peace can be finally had in the middle east.

How does it solve that the country went from having one of the higher (if not the highest?) standards of life in Africa into falling into total chaos? Don't get me wrong, I despise Gadaffi, but I think condemning him for his crimes in a trial would be more democratic than slaying and humiliating him like that.

Not to mention the risk of Libya going back into being a society built on clans, and ending up in an evil circle of conflict like in Somalia.

And I haven't even brought up the whole oil + NATO/USA thing...

Bush Jr. is still wanted for war crimes, and he's at least as much of a villain as anyone you listed. Global politics isn't often as simple as heroes and villains. People like Gaddafi and Khomeini were very good to their people at one point. Gaddafi greatly increased the quality of life for Libyans, especially in terms of literacy and education. Khomeini was successful in getting rid of the Shah of Iran, whose brutal police state had been supported for decades by US tax dollars and CIA black ops.

And of course, we will never know if bin Laden was a villain. The US government has never published hard evidence linking him to 9/11, and since they assassinated him, he is never going to stand trial. So we won't know until it all becomes declassified in like 40 years.

It's a lot to think about.

brought the shariah law,and there are people in the middle east who are 500 years behind or more, with the mentality to stone their women if they disagree to obey.

Bush jr was a very bad president. What he did in irak is unforgivable, and he probably also helped towards the economic crash we have today with that war in irak.

Saddam was bad as well, but i also heard that he helped keep religious rule out of irak.

I don't know all that much about gaddafi, but i heard that he and his son are really bad people.

I watched a movie about idi amin dada, and i saw an interview with him.He was a pretty horrible man who murdered people who disagreed with him and got in his way.I think i saw a video where the interviewer asked about the death tollss there were in the country.

I heard a rumor that bin ladden's family visited bush in a helicopter and they were friends, but i cannot confirm this.I heard that the family was safely taken back to afghanistan on a helicopter.

As for what now:Bush is no longer the president, obama is.I don't know what the situation is with obama, but he seems to be a good speaker and all.I can't really say all that much or anything at all, because i live in spain.I've seen stuff about bush and bush senior in documentaries, but only thing i've heard about obama, are these things:

The wife uses tax dollars to supposedly take trips to europe on an airplane and has bad taste in clothing.

Obama supposedly makes a lot of promises that he cannot keep

I definitely do not want the job of defending Khomeini, so I won't. I think implementing Sharia law was a major step backwards. I just wanted to say that even the people we call villains aren't one hundred percent evil.

Here's my personal opinion about the other stuff:

As for Obama, I would agree that he doesn't keep promises. It is common for presidents to make promises and never keep them. Currently, Obama is continuing Bush's wars, which he promised to end. Also, Obama promised to close the Guantanamo Bay prison and has never done that. Both American parties are essentially the same brand of big business conservatism in my opinion, so I think it is unreasonable to expect Obama to be very different from Bush.

I do not know if bin Laden was friends with Bush, but I do know that when the USSR was at war in Afghanistan during the 80s to support a communist government there, the U.S. naturally funded the opposition, which included Osama bin Laden. That was before Al Qaida was even formed though. Saddam and the US were also on the same side during the 80s, when Iraq invaded Khomeini's Iran. This isn't because we supported Osama bin Laden's or Saddam Hussein's beliefs or governments. We just wanted the USSR to waste a lot of money in Afghanistan, and we wanted Iran to have a government that would make favorable oil deals with us. It was just (dangerous) business.

I don't know what you consider evil, but i do consider the muslim and christian extremes to be very evil.

There are people in between, who are not caught up in the tides of their beliefs as much as others, but its hard not to be swayed by someone who is so charismatic.

The sharia law is everything that modern societies in europe us and china oppose:

Religious fascism.
Ignorance and stupidity
Violent separatist behavior.

I believe it is for these reasons that religion and politics don't mix well.
Religion without politics is not as powefull, and less influencial.

I am also not surprised about what you said about funding to osama bin ladden, because of the relations the us had in the past with the russians.
I will not claim to know if its true or not, because i do not know that much about it,but i heard about the russians invading afghanistan and retreated in defeat in the end.

I also heard from my mom today, that bin ladden's family opposed what bin ladden was doing, and that they wanted nothing to do with him.

And what you said to me about the oil business reminds me of a movie i watched:Syriana.

The one where the americans killed the sheik to get someone else to take charge so the arabic guys would sell to them.(Definitely makes americans look bad)

Obama: I'm not quite sure how he ended up in a discussion about "villains" but I can say he is not a villain. No, he hasn't been our best president either. He is actually taking the troops out of Iraq, for those of you who don't know. And hey, guess what? He's taking them out by the time Bush contractually agreed upon with the government of Iraq. Look at it this way. Obama inherited a country from Bush where basically everything had a problem. Domestic and Foreign. No one man can fix everything right away like people want. Especially when the two parties that control the countries politics are complete idiots who either can't do anything, or are too selfish and close-minded to do what is right for the country.

ANYWAY.

Bin Laden: Terrorist and extremist, regardless of involvement with 9/11. Also, to Magitek, that whole thing about him being friends with Bush is a conspiracy theory. Not fact.

Honestly, the U.S. just needs to leave the Middle East. We're long past the point of a good solution. It's like a bad relationship, just need to cut off ties as much as possible. Hopefully we'll get better with alternative energy, and we won't depend so much on oil.

The others I can't really say much except that Qaddafi wasn't very defendable no matter who you are.

I never said that obama is a villain,i meant to give an example,of hearing things but not necessarily knowing the full situation in the us.

I don't live there,so all i know right now is that bush left the us in a mess of trillions of dollars in debt, and obama was left with a huge mess to clean up that would obviously take time to clean up.

I heard that obama was continuing the war.

Oh:What about fidel castro? he's pretty selfish, and denies his people trading rights with the us which would massively benefit them.

As for not being able to fix the country:I agree,it takes time to fix a mess this huge.

Saddam hussein isn't defendable either.

Both he and his son or sons or whatever, have commited atrocities to their people.I heard that the son was pretty horrible.
