Since I just came home from Sublime & 311 on the Unity Tour, and I went to Warped this year, I want to see some of the other concerts/music festivals people have gone to. It can be the most recent, your favorite, one you'd like to see, etc. You all should have some good ones.

I have not been to see a show in quite a while, which makes me pretty sad - I wasn't in tune with who was coming to town when I first moved to my new city last year, and then because of my wife getting pregnant, I had to miss a few that I would have been interested to see over the last year or so.
My best time seeing concerts was back around 2007; in the span of about two months, I saw two of my all-time favorite bands at two fantastic locations in Boston. First, I saw Go! Team supported by Matt and Kim at the Paradise Rock Club, and then soon after I saw Smashing Pumpkins on the Zeitgeist tour at the Orpheum. I know there are fans of both Matt and Kim and Go! Team elsewhere on the forums, and let me say this - if you have the chance to see either, absolutely go do it. They're both amazing live. I'm disappointed that I missed when Matt and Kim came to Kansas City just recently, in fact, because I would go see them again in a heartbeat even though they're a mainstream band now </hipster>. I also got a chance to travel back to NYC after I moved away from there to see the All Points West festival in 2008. I only got to go for one day, but I got to see a huge number of fantastic bands. The day I was there featured Roots, Metric, Chromeo, Animal Collective, Kings of Leon, and the night capped off with Radiohead. That was altogether one amazing day of music, right there, and the festival is within sight of the Statue of Liberty and the rest of Manhattan, so the whole environment is pretty amazing. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

I haven't seen many bands/artists live, but I love Sayde Price.
As for bands/artists I still need to see, I absolutely must see Pearl Jam and Regina Spektor. (They probably won't be performing at the same show.) |

One concert I'd love to go to is Britney SPear's. She puts on a fantastic show!
My first concert was a Tool concert, which was pretty nice. That was in 2007. I stopped going to concerts for a while, haha. Not on purpose! Although I try and keep tabs on bands I like, I never seem to check out their tours at the right time-- I always either just miss them or not be able to afford them when they are near, so I have terrible luck. Recently, though, I went to a free Puddle of Mudd concert, mostly because it was free, haha. It was cool. The lead singer was pretty high and messed up "She ****ing Hates Me". For my husband's birthday we went to Deftones' Diamond Eyes tour, which was fantastic. They sound like they do on the album! And for Passenger, instead of Maynard, they had the opener guy sing his part, but they changed the song to make it more aggressive and yelling to match the other guys' band. One of the opening bands was terrible, though. Like I mean, I shouldn't have but I laughed the entire time they were so ridiculous. Just last month I went to see Distant Worlds ![]() Once concert I regret not going to, though, is an Atmosphere concert they held at a club in El Paso. I love them, but Wrath of the Lich King came out the same day, so Mitch wouldn't have gone with me. And, uh, that would have not been something I'd want to be alone at! lol. -------------------- You're telling me that there's no hope. I'm telling you you're wrong. |

I do that all the time. It should be better now though. Everybody comes to Cali at some point, so all I need is a car. One concert I'm going to miss that really bums me out was not being able to see Skrillex in Baltimore with my friends. Everyone wants to go to Maryland as soon as I move. Just recently saw Blink 182 along with Manchester Orchestra. A pretty solid show overall, I have to say! Also just picked up tickets to see Arcade Fire soon, not to mention Misery Signals with Veil of Maya, Underoath and Comeback Kid. I tend to go to shows as often as time permits and budget allows, and when I was younger, I basically hung out at local venues on weekends because there was always a local band or a friend's band playing.
I think the best artists I've seen live to date have been Between the Buried and Me, Radiohead, Explosions in the Sky and Against Me! This post has been edited by Dragon_Fire on 23rd August 2011 06:23 -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

The two concerts that stick out in my head were when I saw Muse and when I saw Arctic Monkeys in August. The Muse concert was great, the spectacle was amazing, they're my favorite band so I loved all of the songs, and the atmosphere was incredible. I wasn't too far away, but I wasn't close in the slightest. They played a lot of the new album, which I'm not a fan of but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The Arctic Monkeys show blew it out of the water. They played in this little club in Dallas and I was in the front row. The emotion of the entire night was nothing short of electric, they played amazingly, everything was absolutely perfect. People were jumping up and down and everyone was having a good time. Definitely the best concert I've ever been to

I realized I forgot to put all the stuff I asked for in my post, in my post. So!
Favorite Concert: Vans Warped Tour '11: We Are Warped What can I say? An entire day of my favorite bands, who all get really into their live shows? It amazing beyond words. One of the best though was the 311 show I mentioned- Even though I wasn't completely into their style, 311 has an amazing show. Very devoted, friendly fans, so it was a good atmosphere. They also had the best light show I'd ever seen. -------------------- -FFIII FFIV FFV FFVII FFVIII FFX FFXII FFXIII FF:Dissidia FFVII:CC FFVII:DoC --KHI KHII KH:COM KH:BbS ---SO:FD SO:TTEOT SO:TLH ----DQIII DQVIII -----DA:O DAII ------VP:S |

Back in February I went to go see The Plain White T's in San Francisco. It was a nice concert and not crazy at all like I hear some of them get. Miggs and Parachute opened for them.

I love concerts more than anything ever. That said, I don't go to as many as someone like my older sister, but I've been to a fair bit. For instance, last summer I toured with the band Phish. A few months before that I saw The Flaming Lips, and a few before that Further. In between I went to a number of small local venues to catch some of the talent and see my friends play.
Really, I love dancing more than anything, and where better than the grass on a 100 degree day in Columbia Maryland? This is where my best concert was. It happened last year on Phish tour, and many of the bloggers considered it the gem of the summer tour. I can't recall ever having quite so much fun. -------------------- If you've been mod-o-fied, It's an illusion, and you're in-between. My first concert: Black Label Society (Mafia Tour)
My favorite concert: hmmm...that's a tough one. These are all the concerts I've been too: BLS '05, Flogging Molly '06 (6 days shy of my 21st bday ![]() Mayhem Fest '09 was pretty crazy. If you go to YouTube and search Mayhem '09 Detroit Killswitch Engage Wall of death, you can hear them yelling for a medic. The medic was for my girlfriend who ended up on the front lines of this massive wall if death (8th mile wide) and got kicked in the head by accident when she tried helping someone up. She was out for a good 30 to 45 seconds. -------------------- A hero is somone who steps up when everyone else backs down. Your greatest adversary hides inside your mirror. |
