This is the second part of the game where you are forced to put certain characters on the back burner, left to become obsolete fighters. The first part was after the big Narshe battle in the mountains. Personally I wish I could bring everybody to Zozo, the Opera House and Vector but it doesn't work out that way. Oh well. So which two characters are the most deserving to come along for the big adventure to the southern continent?

Well for me I've picked Gau and Sabin to join Locke and Celes the majority of the time which consists of around 8 play-throughs total. In my first game I actually chose Sabin and Cyan but then trained Gau up a great deal after the Vector mission. At that time I really liked Sabin, Cyan and Gau and having to chose which one to go back to Narshe was very difficult. This is why I had Gau catch up after the mission so I could have my three main guys back. Now it seems obvious to me that Cyan is a sluggish fighter with below average stats so he always sits out now.

As most people know Sabin is a very solid fighter with great attacks. In Vector Pummel is great because the attack ignores the high physical defense of the soldiers. What many people don't know is Gau's ability to put on a dazzling display with the Aspik rage which casts Giga Volt, a spell comparable to Bolt 3 (10 points weaker but non-reflectable). Well not only is Ultros weak against lightning but so is almost every enemy in Vector. I'm willing to make the claim that Gau is absolutely the most effective character for the mission due to the reasons stated above. It's a lot of fun to watch. Not everyone is a fan of Gau though.

I use the classic team of Edgar, Sabin, Celes and Locke generaly. They're more or less my team for most of the game actualy, except replace Locke with Mog. That's probably a bad thing, to use exclusively the same people, but ah well. It works for me.

I also use Edgar, Sabin, Celes and Locke. Well balanced team with good equipment around that time (the elemental swords can be used by Celes, Locke and Edgar, and one of them will equip the Break Blade). I also steal Tiger Masks from Ralphs for Sabin on the continent.

I use -Edgar,Gau,Locke, Celes. I thinki its the best party with a combination of tools, and a blaze rage that owns everything except ifrit.

Sabin and Edgar tend to be my heavy physical hitters, with Locke being my utility guy and Celes of course handling the heavy magic. I almost always forget about the boss at the end of Vector though (the guy on the tracks) and have to have someone learn a cure spell off of Unicorn before I leave.

I use Gau, Locke, Celes, and Edgar/Sabin/Cyan.*
*I don't really care who it is, because they all have the super slamming attacks, and Gau has his rages which is fun to use

Edgar, Cyan, Locke, and Celes. Just 'cuz they rock. Save Terra replacing Cyan that's my final party and Cyan is the awesome Katana-wielding backup, so yeah.....I Swordtech!

Well, usually it's Edgar and Gau on the optionals. Gau usually has at least one powerful elemental rage and Catscratch, while Edgar has the Chainsaw and Drill to penetrate defenses.

That was my usual Vector team, but this time I think I'm giong to use Gau, Edgar, Celes, and Locke.

Lets see I use Sabin/Edgar/Celes/Locke

I use Sabin w/ his Fire Dance, Edgar w/ his Drill & Chain Saw

I mainly have Locke steal and learn some cure magic the end of Vector

Sabin Edgar Celes and Locke is a team i always use for this part

I always let Gau and Cyan tag along with Locke and Celes. Cyan because I love the whol samurai aspect of him, plus he's a great fighter, and strong. Gau I take along because...well, Gau just plain kicks ass. I make it a habit to go back to the veldt and get the rages of the things you fight in the serpent trench, one of which has a Bolt 2-ish attack IIRC, whic I found VERY helpful in the Magitech Research Facility.

I usually use Locke, Celes, Sabin, and Cyan for this part. Cyan is slow, but he deals a lot of damage when it's his turn. Sabin is a powerhouse with that bum rush attack .

I use Sabin, Gau, Celes, and Locke.

Sabin uses his fire dance and aura bolt blitzes, and uses mantra if I've learned it to be my primary healer.
Gau rages Aspik or Vaporite.
Celes and Locke usually attack with a thunderblade.

I've always thought it a crime that the game forces you to use Locke on so many frustrating occasions.

That being said, I tend to use the straightforward party of Celes, Locke, Sabin, and Edgar. Edgar and Sabin add a lot of strength to the team, and their versatility ensures that I'm prepared for any situation. Cyan can go in for either one, I guess, though his SwdTechs are marginally less useful than Tools and Blitzes.

Meaning ofcorse Sabin, Edgar, Locke, and Celles. From the beginign I've liked Edgar, and Sabin's blitzs rock! (That is, when you don't mess them up...)

I always take sabin,edgar,celes and locke cause if you have flash it will come in handy against many machines in yhe factory and xhen youre up against the espers i almost always do it like this: drill whit edgar, blitz with sabin, healing whit locke and magic or runic whit celes

i used celes edgar sabin and locke edgar because of figaro shops sabin because of his blitz and a scene in the figaro castle
celes because of magic and shes my second favorite character
locke because of his scene with rachel i looked all of this up before going to vector
wait am i talking about something completly unrelated?

I have no set party; I choose whoever has the lowest levels.

I've only done this part once, seeing as I'm on my first playthrough, but I did Celes, Cyan, Sabin, Locke. Me and my friend are playing it together, and I've got Celes and Cyan, he has Sabin and Locke.
