So, I've come across a glitch with my FFXII and I"m trying to figure out if this is either unique to my copy of the game which has no scratches or because I am using a new slim version PS2. I want to know to find out if I want to risk buying another copy or trying to find another copy to see if the glitch happens again. I'm at the part early on in the game where Vaan has suck into the palace in Rabanastre. He's just had the cutscene with the magitcite and he's headed up the stairs to where all the commotion is. The problem that I"m coming across is he heads up the stairs and I see the door but then his footsteps noise keeps going and the commotion behind the door keeps going but then nothing happens. It just stays like that. Anyone else have this problem?

Edit
This is also the collector's edition of the game. It didn't glitch when I played it on my old PS2 because I got much farther in the game last time. Don't know if this makes a difference.

I played the collector's version as well on the slim PS2 model, and I had no problems at the point you're mentioning. I guess I would suggest trying to use a friend's copy, or perhaps borrowing it from a Blockbuster or some equivalent place? Sorry I can't be more helpful!

Well, I wiped down the disc and I got past that part and it seems to be working fine now. It must have just been some dust or something. Makes me happy 'cause I'm loving the game so far!

That's great to hear!

I had the collector's edition too, and found no troubles with it.

It is an awesome game, in my opinion, so do continue to enjoy it!
