Duodecim gets released in the States today! YAY
My answer WOULD have been Laguna (since he was one of the few things I really liked about FFVIII) until I saw...this. And the name of Gilgy's EX Mode? What's not to like? Speaking of EX-ness, I'm somewhat irked that they apparently switched the in-battle name of Bartz's EX Burst from "Spellblade-Dual Wield-Rapid Fire" to "Master Mime", but hey. -------------------- |

Obviously Gilgamesh. Kain is pretty cool, I don't really care about the others.

Either Tifa or Kain. I play a lot of close-to-mid-range air combat and one or both of those will probably fit my playstyle. My mains in vanilla Dissidia are Warrior of Light, Terra, and Zidane.

Gilgamesh, definitely. I'm also looking forward to seeing Kain in action.

Was going to vote Kain, as I've always enjoyed his character, but I ended up feeling an imuplse to go with Laguna. Perhaps my FFVIII sympathies acting up, as they often do.

I doubt I'll pick up the game anytime soon, but I'd definitely be rocking some Gilgamesh if I did.

I know it's already been said numerous times on this forum, but I'm annoyed that there aren't any new characters from FFVI.
I, II, III, & IX not having any new representatives I'm actually okay with: I haven't played IX yet, so I really can't have an opinion one way or another on that; II's fanbase isn't big enough for Squenix to get nerdrage for not adding anyone new; and I & III don't have enough "real" characters to add (Nomura said that he was basically creating new characters from scratch when it came to Garland and Onion Knight). But VI's cast is HUGE. They couldn't add Celes? Or Leo? Or Edgar? Or Locke? Or Shadow? Or -...you get the idea. Insegredious, same! I can't believe they'd do that. They seem to be neglecting my favorite FFs.
White mage would have been cool ![]() Out of the group, Kain would be neat. I'd like to see how he can jump attack. -------------------- You're telling me that there's no hope. I'm telling you you're wrong. |

Picked up a copy of Duodecim on Tuesday, and I've been having a lot of fun with it. Turns out, I'm pretty good with Lightning and Tifa. I've been using them as my mains. I do okay with Yuna and Kain, too. Laguna and Vaan are gonna take some getting used to, though. I guess the only gripe I have regarding the new characters (aside from nobody new representing FF6) is that Gilgamesh isn't on the roster or in the PP Catalogue, and so far, I have no idea how to find/unlock him.

TIFA TIFA TIFA as well as Laguna surely, and I suppose Yuna.
NOT ENOUGH NEW CHARACTERS. I mean, seriously so many missing charas I would LOVE TO PLAY AS. I am very saddened. |

I'm not keen on Vaan, Laguna or Lighting. But Tifa, Yuna, Kain and Gilgamesh most defiantly. ![]() Though I'm really sad and depressed that there's no FF 6 or FF 9 characters. FF 6 is seen as the best by some fans, and FF9 needs some more love. Why reject them SE ?? -------------------- Currently playing Chrono Trigger !! Currently looking forward to Don't Know. |

So I just got my first good look at the game and...that's it? Those are all the new characters? As in...with the possible exception of Gilgamesh, there are NO NEW VILLAINS AT ALL?? No Seifer or Rubicante or Vargas or (oh how I wish) Jenova? No anything? Lazy lazy LAZY, Squeenix!

vaan is disgustingly overpowered if you use him right, so im going with him. tifa is also crazy fun to use with some practice. i still main squall though. im disappointed that there arent any more ff 9 characters but im glad there arent any more from any of the other games. the only person i would want to see from 6 is locke, but why do i need locke when i have zidane?

The hardest thing about doing a game like this, I think, is that there are so many characters that SE can't possibly please everyone. That's why I maintain my hope that Dissidia eventually gets a console release, with a much larger library of characters. Another benefit of a console release would be that SE could add additional characters over time, even in purchasable packages, that would allow for more options.

Tifa is pretty much the reason I bought this game. I'm almost through the 012 story and she's still my favorite of the new characters. I also like Kain, and I don't particularly enjoy Laguna's play style but I like his character.
I don't understand why Vaan is so powerful, it doesn't really make sense with his character. He's just a kid who came across a group of trained fighters. Any other character from XII would have made a better Warrior of Cosmos except for Penelo. I didn't like Yuna in FFX because she's always crying and complaining, and it seems they kept that personality intact for Dissidia. Lightning is a bit too cold for my liking personality-wise and I don't like having to switch modes with her in combat. I agree, of all the additions I was most excited about Laguna, followed by Kain. I felt Laguna was an especially good choice just because he helps give some variety to the weapons used in the game. I think SE could probably do a bit better at adding characters with different fighting styles so as to create a bit more variation. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! This is probably the best place to place this. When I bought Final Fantasy 4 Complete, it came with a code for an alternate Cecil costume, redeemable through PlayStation Network. I'll PM the code to the first person to reply here with interest.

Kain was the obvious answer in my opinion. Not to mention he is the strongest character in the game.

I will second Feral Chaos EX BURST being scary as hell.
Unfortunately was a surprisingly easy battle, possibly because I was overlevelled, I am assuming. |

I finally bought Duodecim a couple days ago, and I just now finished the twelfth cycle. As far as the new characters go, I enjoy using Kain, and Laguna instantly became one of my mains. I love using him in battle, and I really like his character. I haven't quite got the hang of Tifa's feint's just yet, but she's growing on me as a fighter (jiggle physics notwithstanding. Stop looking at me like that). Yuna's not bad either; no real complaints regarding her.
I'm not too keen on Lightning or Vaan, though. Maybe it's because I've never played FFXIII, but Lighting's Paradigm Shift thingy seems kind of gimmicky. (I also think she's kind of a bitch.) I don't really understand Vaan's whole weapon shift deal. I'm also not a fan of Vaan's primary outfit. His tiny vest thingy looks really stupid. I haven't gotten Prishe or Feral Chaos yet, but I just unlocked Gilgamesh (who was accompanied by a very audible squee from yours truly). -------------------- |
