If you could, would you give/change a character's VA? Personally, I would recast Jay Baruchel as hope. The dude would go from "annoying brat" to "adorkable nerd" in about five minutes.
(Also, it doesn't matter if the character already has a voice actor or not. Just say who you'd want to voice who.) -------------------- "When we think there's no hope left, we keep looking until we find some!" - Claire Farron |

Princess Irulan (Virginia Madsen) to voice Aeris. She has a really soft voice but without being weak. She has a sort of force and kindness. And also could be a bit cheeky and human when it's needed. Know then that it is the year 10,000.
Uma Thurman for Celes. She's strong most of the time but has moments of weakness. Her character in Nausicaa is similar to what I mean: Uma Thurman at 1:30. Christopher Walken for Cid in FFVII. Brian Blessed with his enormous voice for Kefka. It has to happen. I'm not convinced by snivelling hysterical Kefka, his laugh might be wild but there's no reason for thinking he can't have a booming authority of a voice. Kefka's laugh is more of a hoot or a howl, not actually very high-pitched. Here's Blessed (beware of bad language). And here's Kefka. Perfect. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |

Mark Hamill going maximum-crazy as Kefka. Michael Gough (the voice actor, not the recently-deceased actor) as Gestahl, putting on an evil version of his Deckard Cain voice. Nathan Fillion as Edgar and Adam Baldwin as Sabin, just because I can. Nolan North as Leo, because he's versatile and excellent with heroic-type voices. Reuben Langdon as Setzer, because I feel he needs to be in something other than a Capcom game.

Kind of makes me think of Hayao Miyazaki works, where he takes great actors and gives them parts (Anne Hathaway
![]() I think Amy Adams (Giselle from Enchanted) would make a fantastic Terra. Carry Elwes has to be Locke! He pretty much plays the Robin Hood esque type characters, anyway! Actually, possibly because of the mustache, I'm totally digging whoever Inigo Montoya as Cyan. I could see it. Cloud = Keanu Reeves. Morgan Freeman would definitely be General Leo, I think ![]() -------------------- You're telling me that there's no hope. I'm telling you you're wrong. |

Interesting that Laz is the only one to name actual voice actors.

Jay Baruchel voiced Hiccup in HTTYD... That counts, right?
![]() Oh, and yeah Laz: Mark Hamill would make a KILLLER Kefka. ![]() -------------------- "When we think there's no hope left, we keep looking until we find some!" - Claire Farron |

I mean career voice actors, ie people that weren't hired to voice because they were known actors.
Even though Madsen and Blessed do quite well at it. -------------------- I fear my heart and fear my soul Life goes on, it surely will, Without me and I wonder: Will I ever see light again? Life goes on... |

This is something my friends and I talk about quite a lot. Here's a list I've compiled of who I'd cast in FF6.
Locke - Vic Mignogna Edgar - Crispin Freeman Sabin - Patrick Warburton Shadow - Kevin Conroy Celes - Megan Hollingshead Emperor Gestahl - Christopher Lee Leo - Liam O'Brien Strago - Jimmy Zoppi Relm - Kerry Williams (Chloe Moretz would also be good in this role...especially in a live action adaptation.) Ultros - John DiMaggio |

Patrick Warburton as Steiner. Christopher Lee is Garland (FFIX's of course).
Those are the 2 that come to mind so far. |
