In looking at EE's link, my reactions:
Pic 1: Wow, that's a really good PlanEx headquarters, and look at the ship half sunk in the water. Very funny. Pic 2: Really accurate Robot Arms Apartments, and hilarious that they put Santa on there. And Luke's landspeeder... Pic 3 - End: Good Lord, this is amazing and I want it in my house. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Well, since I'm most of anyone who actually looks at this thread, this is now available for order: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/The-Disney-Castle-71040
It's nearly 30" high at the spire and has just over 4000 pieces. And it's $350. And I still kinda want it. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Wow that's crazy. I used to collect Star Wars Lego sets but man where those pricey. But none of those held a candle to $350!

Speaking of pricey, Lego announced a teaser today for a new Star Wars set that will be its biggest ever, meaning, bigger than the Death Star.
https://www.facebook.com/LEGO/videos/10154980237728403/ Internet sleuthing implies that it's going to be a new Millenium Falcon, probably based on however it ends up looking for Episode VIII. The Death Star is just over four thousand pieces and costs $500, and is 16" in diameter. Hard telling how massive this new Falcon might be. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

I collect a lot of Lego but I pretty much won't pay over $300 for something. Even paying $280 for Assembly Square was pushing it for me. I want that new giant Ninjago set, even though I don't collect the Ninjago line but $299.99 is a lot. i hear it's a fun build according to one of my LUG members. I did just pick up this though and it's supposed to arrive this week.

Here's a couple neat LEGO things I've seen on Facebook recently:
DJ and producer Zedd had a chunk of his wall torn out and replaced with LEGO, but inside the new wall there are partially-hidden compartments with recreations of venues he's played, an Overwatch scene, and some other stuff. Pretty neat. https://www.facebook.com/Zedd/videos/vb.107...?type=2&theater And LEGO themselves just announced that their first bioplastic elements are now rolling off the production line. Naturally, they're elements used to make foliage. https://www.facebook.com/LEGO/videos/2196901137240712/ -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Also from Facebook, a reveal of a Mickey Mouse 90th anniversary set that is super adorable:

My daughter got a pretty sizable LEGO Friends set as a belated birthday present this year, and it immediately became her favorite set that she's ever gotten. I have to admit I had a really good time putting it together with her; she really liked the tween/teen pool party theme, but I found myself impressed several times with the design decisions they made in creating the set and the cleverness made it really appealing. I was never a huge fan of the Friends line but after this one I'm definitely planning on getting her another one for Christmas.

Yesterday was my first chance to ever go to a LEGO convention, and I took my daughter and brother-in-law. I thought I'd throw a few of my photos from my phone up for people to check out:
