for difficulty, ozma and a couple xiii bosses gave me trouble (although the xiii ones were the games fault for generally being outlandishly stupid)
for pure annoyance, ultros. ive grown to really hate ff vi for being so campy, and ultros just added to it. relms interaction with "uncle ulty" or whatever he called himself was just sickening. i really cant bring myself to play that game anymore because its just too jokey and childish. gau, relm, ultros and kefka (he got annoying) ruined that game for me. -------------------- Aujourdhui a commence avec toi. |

Part 2 of the final boss in XIII
Possible spoilers: highlight to view : I ended up just poisoning him because the battle was too frustrating to fight fairly. And whose idea was it to let him cast death on the party leader when party leader death=game over? I'm just grateful that you can retry the battle if you lose instead of having to redo part 1 every time. Orphan 1 -------------------- FF games completed: I (psp), II (psp), III (DS), IV (psp), V (GBA), VI (GBA), VII, VIII, IX, X, XI: Nations-Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, XII, XIII, XIV, XV. Spin-offs: FFIV: Interlude & The After Years, Crisis Core: FFVII, X-2, XIII-2, Lightning Returns, Type-0 HD, Dissidia, Dissidia 012, and Tactics (original & WotL). Enjoyed them all. |

Seymour. Flux.
I had to use the cheapest strategy in existence to beat him. I maxed out all my aeon's Overdrive meters, (and Yuna's) then let loose on him. Every time I used one of my aeon's Overdrives, Mortichis died and leached off of Seymour to revive. That, along with having Tidus use Hastega, and having Tidus and Rikku attack Seymour won the battle. But man, was it annoying! -------------------- "When we think there's no hope left, we keep looking until we find some!" - Claire Farron |

Well I'm gonna have to go with Orphan 1 here, seeing as I still haven't beaten him. Though, on the bright side I still haven't beaten the living crap out of the disk yet either.

I would have to say Omega from final fantasy 5 because he is hard to avoid (unlike Shinryu) and if you run into hin you are most likely screwed

Yu Yevon from FFX. The battle is slow and you can't lose. The whole thing felt like a waste of time. Actually most of the game felt like a waste of time.
Quote (thebartzman) I really hate Ozma, benn trying to beat it for 5 years, record is 0-1583. Levels are 99 with most abilities At those levels he should be pretty easy. He only has 55,000 HP. Go with Steiner, Zidane, Freya and Eiko. Make sure Zidane nearly has a Trance, or make sure that he's stolen enough items to make Thievery strong. If Freya is level 99 I'm assuming you've killed a lot of Grand Dragons. If not, go and kill a lot of those other pink dragons (Ironites I think they're called) in Burmecia to get her Dragon Crest move powered up. Steiner uses Shock, Zidane uses his best Trance or Thievery, Freya uses Dragon Crest, and Eiko uses Holy. His first and second moves aren't enough to kill you, and after two or three turns you'll kill him. FFXIII had a few really awful bosses.
However I have also yet to beat Ozma and I have a level 70 plus party. Soon enough anyway. |

I can't remember his name, but he's the fiend that attacks you on top of Mt. Ordeals in FFIV. He wouldn't stop inflicting status effects. I hated that.

I never thought Ozma was that hard. I lost to him my first time, then equipped a bunch of darkness armor, then beat him the second time. Not difficult.
The FF boss that gave me the most trouble was probably Omega. I never beat him in the SFamicom rom or PS1 versions. -------------------- |

For me, it's Kaiser Dragon in FF6 Advance. He keeps spamming me with Heartless Angel and using attacks like Hyperdrive that do one hit K.O.s when my party is at full HP. I still haven't figured out how to beat him.

Seymour- Flux from Final Fantasy X. The boss is unforgiving, quick, cheap and very ruthless. And annoying.

Ozma seems to be luck mainly. I've tried so many bloody times I just realized that I could do the -1superboss in every game that had one but not the ultimate one. for these reasons I've never beaten:
Yiazmat: Tried gave up after 30 minutes and had only killed one HP bar(Battle speed needed to be higher I know) Ozma: Cause even for a grinder like myself I couldn't get good enough to kill this guy Emerald: Killed Ruby, couldn't kill Emerald. Never Again. Kaiser dragon/ Omega Weapon: Even the great BlueHighwind couldn't get me through the Dragons Den so I've never tried really Shinyru: "Eish! Ek se bra that was a RAPE!" quote from a friend who saw me die in the first turn. Magnetic cave: Counts as a superboss because I can't get through it Haven't finished III DS so I guess beating any of those Last 5 bosses counts and on II I can't do that whole Hell thing after the game ends. 1 had those randomized dungeons which I really don't have time for, what with O-levels and all. -------------------- Since I advertise CoN there I think it's only fair that I advertise The Wiki here. |

The Shinryu Dragon superboss in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. I couldn't last beyond the first two or three attacks. I got him pretty easily in FFV, thanks to the YouTube "Let's Play-er" HCBailly with a certain strategy. Unfortunately, I have to deal with The After Years' version by myself.
Omega (in both this game and FFV) and the Ultima Weapon in The After Years. It's the same weapon from FFVI, but this time, he's MUCH more difficult and has tons more HP. Also, the Emerald Weapon from FFVII. This post has been edited by Fatal on 27th September 2010 21:57 -------------------- |

I: WarMech, natch. Specifically, when you aren't looking for him and he shows up anyway, or when you *are* looking for him and he won't show up.
II: Lamia Queen; charm is annoying, and even more so if you unequip Lelia before the fight for reasons I will not divulge. III: Garuda. I enjoy bosses that encourage a specific technique; I abhor ones that require it. IV: Demon Wall V: Flame Eater VI: Vargas, specifically because he's evil scum. VII: Emerald Weapon. It goes against everything to not use materia when fighting one of the strongest bosses in the game, but there ya' go. VIII: Elvoret. I insist on drawing 100 Double for each character, which takes a bejeezus amount of time and energy. IX: Anything where I want that frickin' rare steal. Not Hilgigars, really, but Beatrix stands out. X: Yunalesca. Deciding which/how many characters to keep zombified is just ridiculous. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. XI: Never got to a boss. XII: Nothing in particular, although there are several that make you do weird things. The Esper battle are all pretty memorable. I'm gonna go with Addrammalech, just because he is hella hard to beat at the time he would actually be useful to you. By the time the encounter is manageable, he's pretty crap. |
