Here's a proven, although lesser known FF7 tip.

Did you know any unique items you miss during the game can be dug up in Bone Village? I first found this out when I missed Ramuh a few years back, but it applies to nearly everything! Weapons, armor, and even Huge Materia! But, you can only dig it up after you missed it, not before. Don't believe me? Try it!

So, I hope this helps out anyone who missed a Huge Materia, or a Zeidrich, or the Missing Score, etc. Actually, it would be nice if this tidbit was put in the CoN Secrets section.

If that's true I'm a little ticked off that I didn't know that. Reason being, I had a "perfect file" and then realized I was missing Added Cut/Added Effect (whichever one you can't get after you passed it). Needless to say that I have a perfect file now, but at a loss of hundreds of hours.

If only I'd known that I could've just dug it up sad.gif

I don't know how to dig in "Bone Village." Does anyone else know how to dig in "Bone Village?"

No offence to you personally, but I've always been very sceptical about claims that you can dig up any once-only item from Bone Village. In particular, I've never seen any solid proof that Huge Materia turn up there. I only got three out of four my first time through, and the final one never turned up there (not that I was really looking, admittedly).

We can update the Bone Village section (see Mini-Games; this will also give the digging instructions you want, kerwynx) with any items that can be dug up there, but I want to see absolute screenshot-proof before doing so.

Well, I am unable to provide such screenshot proof, I can only give you my word. But, it wouldn't be to hard to check it out yourself, no? Of course, if through some strange time-space shift that I'm somehow wrong, I give you and everyone here my deepest apologies. It wouldn't hurt to try, though.

I'd love to try it, but I just don't have time to sit around finding potions all day (which is what used to happen whenever I went to Bone Village, in spite of having missed one Huge Materia).

If anyone else wants to test it and provide some screenshots, it'd be useful to finally confirm this.

Yes please, I never did get around to confirming it when I was writing the guide. If someone could do that it'd be great. smile.gif

I do remember though that some guides and people have said you can get the W-Summon materia there, but I never once found it whenever I went looking. Hence why I didn't write it into the guide... hadn't confirmed it. :-/

The thought of going through a game not trying to complete it 100%... I'll check my games to see if there was anything I missed but odds are I didn't.

I can't confirm anything regarding a W-Summon Materia being acquirable there, sadly, nor can I do anything more than give you another unverified claim: I got the W-Item there, as I got annoyed with running through the tunnels beneath Midgar to get it and finally gave up and ran back the other way. I can't provide a screenshot, I'm afraid, and I realize this is utterly unhelpful as a result, but I can give you this news of another thing to look out for if any of you attempt to try this.

I'm positive W-Item is available there, at least. I'd like to find out if it's possible to dig up Bahamut ZERO, which I've seen suggested in a few places, which may have been confused with Huge Materia across person A telling person B telling person C, etc.

I once dug up the Mop there so I do know you can get rare items, whether one can get 'any' rare item I've yet to test...and prolly never will. ^^

I missed Ramuh once, read about this phenomenon in a FAQ, and spent about two hours digging. I did eventually receive it. I can't prove this with screen shots.

You can always get Alexander from the glacier, which is accessable throughout the game smile.gif

It's a bugger to find though - I must have gotten him four+ times and I still cant remember exactly how. Just make sure you touch the hot springs first; Then you've gotta look for some witch in a cave if memory serves.

Yeah, you can. Only if you missed out on either of the Bahamuts I think...

I did know a site but I've forgotten now thumbdown.gif

W-Item and other things are available there but... I'm not sure.

I know it's a really old thread but incase anyone was still wondering, the rarest items you can dig up in Bone Village (other than the key items) are W-Item, Phoenix and Bahamut Zero; no huge materia or ultimate weapons, etc.

There's only about a 4% chance of getting Bahamut Zero though.

As far as I know, this map is accurate in terms of what you can dig up : http://www.shillatime.org/bonevillage.jpg

--------------------
FF games completed: I (psp), II (psp), III (DS), IV (psp), V (GBA), VI (GBA), VII, VIII, IX, X, XI: Nations-Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, XII, XIII, XIV, XV.
Spin-offs: FFIV: Interlude & The After Years, Crisis Core: FFVII, X-2, XIII-2, Lightning Returns, Type-0 HD, Dissidia, Dissidia 012, and Tactics (original & WotL).
Enjoyed them all.

I'd agree with that link based on what i've dug up in the past. I dont think it is possible to get ANYTHING you missed, but perhaps items that are meant to be difficult to find and you then get them at bone village when they are no longer as useful.
