Anyone here like the game?
I found it fairly enjoyable and the corny science fiction lines can be funny since it sounds like something out of a really cheesy sci fi movie. I think the game play is pretty good and the layout can be really good in some areas. My favorite part with music is the roman empire like area with the black market. -------------------- We are stardust. Our bodies are made from the guts of exploding stars. Neil Degrasse Tyson. |

Avatar makes it kind of obvious, but I always enjoyed Secret of Evermore. I don't think it's the best game out there, nor would I include it in any top ten list, but it's very enjoyable, has great dialogue, and is just fun to go through.
Agreed about the second world. Antiqua was always my favorite, especially the first market visit. -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing? Agreed with Neal. I had the cart when I was younger and played the hell out of it. Lots of fun, and Antiqua was the best part, easy. It's too bad the game seems to have soured Square to the idea of putting out games in the Western market, because that's probably something that, these days, could help them out a lot.

I've never played this game, even though I've played Mana and CT and the FF series. And even Terranigma.
How is this game? Easy or hard to get into? Long or short? Tedious or interesting? -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. You can find me on the Fediverse! Easy or hard to get into? Long or short? Tedious or interesting? Secret of evermore is a real time rpg set in mixed times with varied weapons. You go from having a: Bone as a weapon to a rocket launcher . You also have something called:Alchemy. Its like the magic system in secret of mana that expands as you cast spells, but instead, you need ingredients to make them work and you need to use your dog to collect ingredients. Don't worry though, you can revisit old places with your dog and pick up ingredients. You also have the weapons charge system like secret of mana that you level up your weapon to be able to charge your bar for a charge attack. For me,the funnest part was the lines and the gameplay. I think people underrate this game sometimes because its actually quite fun, especially the alchemy. -------------------- We are stardust. Our bodies are made from the guts of exploding stars. If young me at 13 could get through the game, you shouldn't have any trouble. It's pretty easy, and just gets easier the further in you get. -------------------- "If art doesn't risk upsetting expectations and challenging its audience, it can only stagnate." |

Secret of evermore is my absolute stand-alone squaresoft(square-enix) game!
![]() I actually preferred it to secret of mana because: SoM, albeit a classic, was even for the time it was made, a pretty generic game. A terrible sequal for a great game such a sword of mana (or FFA for all you old-school gamers.) ![]() SoE, however, was darker and had a few more sci-fi elements that made it feel like something out of a cheesey 50's B-Movie. ![]() This post has been edited by PendragonKuro on 19th November 2010 10:36 -------------------- The meaning of life is life itself. I love this game! This is Secret of Mana are one of those few games that are incredible fun. I enjoyed Evermore very much. I still own the cartridge, though I haven't played in years....
Plus, the graphics were really fun, or at least to me they were. ![]() I would suggest people who haven't played it to play it, but its like 80+ dollars now, I think xD -------------------- |
