Sweetdude: I haven't played XII so I can't comment. However I''m aware that compared to the back catologue of final fantasy, it is wildly unpopular. Again, I can't comment.

The auto attack function is merely a system which requires alternate input from the player, the game has changed, you have to come up with new strategies for the new challenges posed by this game. That's just how it works, and you are aware of this so I fail to see why you keep hammering your point home. The fact is if a player just sat there pressing X and letting the auto battle do its thing, with no other imput. Then the player would not finish the game, or even get close.

'Forget Aesthetics'? Don't be ridiculous. You said you didn't like the physical appearance of the game's environments - which is entirely down to their aesthetics. It is an aesthetically pleasing game. Your preference for VII and IX? Well.. maybe you've got a thing for pre rendered backgrounds..

Your last point is based in completely ignoring my own. I can't see this impasse of ours ending and I probably won't reply to you again if you continue like this.

Alright then.

This is the first thread I've read now that the game has settled. It's interesting, I don't agree with some of the concessions you gave the game, and certainly not in comparison to other linear games. However I do see why someone would still enjoy the game. I keep hammering my point across because you made new assertions about other games in the series and JRPGs in general that I felt were wrong. As for my last point, the datalogues, this is exactly what you were talking about. Just because a player doesn't read the datalogues doesn't mean they have a low concentration level. It probably means they expect more to an exposition to the story than an encyclopaedia. Certainly I did.

Not yet,the game is really ticking me off though.

The dungeons since everything is technically a dungeon or a fighting zone,is long and repetitious and it shouldn't make me feel bored like this.

Even the grind fest that comes later and fetch quests really are boring.

Because i want to give a full review of the game so even if i dislike FFXIII almost as much as ff7,i still want to give a review of it to be fair.I take that back,i dislike FFXIII even less than ff7,in fact,its the worse final fantasy i have ever played,and i have played most of them and the majority i can play through entirely without getting bored,but this one was a chore to play just like ff8 for me was unbelievably dull.

Because i am comparing gameplay wise that FFXIII is worse.Some people will say that this is unfair,but in this case,i think its sure enough to say that the gameplay in FFXIII is worse than what we had in the 90s before ff8 and FFXIII.
I am trying to give as in depth analysis because want to be as fair as possible,yes i dislike the game but i want to also see what the ending is like so i can say:ok the ending didn't suck or something or at least i hope it doesn't suck.
