4 classes, customizable characters, and peer to peer multiplayer. Very nifty additions to the super-classic formula that Torchlight 1 stuck by. Otherwise, not a whole lot different, but I don't think anyone will complain. Can't think of a better Diablo III warmup, right?

I gotta know what all four classes are, though. The Wanderer and Railman seem neat, but I need to see all four side-by-side to really get a feel for how I might be playing the game. My favorite PC RPGs (Diablo II, Sacred I, Anachronox) all have great variety in player-characters, and it's something I crave in games like Torchlight.

Nice, I just got the first one when it was on sale on GamersGate. It's great fun, hopefully this one will be even better.

There's a trailer out now.

The progression from Diablo I to Diablo II is remarkable. Diablo had a single town with a descending dungeon every few floors, and three playable characters epitomizing the RPG character tropes of melee tank, fast sniper, and magic user. Diablo II had more classes with more specific niches, but more importantly also had a randomized overworld with tremendous variety with more and better dungeon-crawling and loot-hounding than ever. Diablo II also had much more fleshed-out multiplayer than its predecessor.

Now take the preceding sentence, and replace the word Diablo with Torchlight. Absolutely the same. Torchlight II is going to rock my socks off.
