Anyone else play this?

I recently played it and thought it seemed decent.

A bit hard to see where things are going sometimes, what with its semi-3D graphics. Also, I didn't discover changing speed until after I'd slogged through the game...lol.

I still don't quite get the plot. Well, I do, but the last level confuses me...fighting that as the final boss just seems to be...rule of drama, probably. I mean, the story idea for it is nice, but... Storyline aside, it was definitely pretty epic. And the overall experience pretty flashy and grand and cool. The bosses were all pretty interesting.

And the techno/electronica music definitely fits with the mood. Including the occasional choral stuff. Though unfortunately none of it is particularly catchy. It's more atmospheric and background-oriented.

I'm awful at games like that. I did play the demo back when the demo was packaged with... FF8, I think? And I played it again just last year when I was digging through demo discs on an emulator. I thought it was a really attractive game, but it was never going to be anything I was really into.

Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN?

Yeah, I sheepishly admit I relied on...ahem...cheating to get through the game. I'm just not well-trained at shmup reflexes. Though having a speed boost would have helped.

It does seem like something that Squenix could revive, with a sequel or re-release. I know it's on the PSN in Japan, but hasn't enjoyed a re-release elsewhere.

I considered grabbing a copy last year that I saw, as it seems interesting enough. I had played a bit with the demo too. It came down to the fact that I tend to be rather awful at games that involve actual skill
