Feathered, scaled, bald, fuzzy, etc.  Who are your pets?  What species/names?

Here, I've just got a fish.  He's a betta, and his name is Al.  He was named after Albert Einstein. :p

We kinda consider the squirrels that inhabit our backyard as pets.  They're also known as the Mus, for those of you who come to chat (Which should be more of you!).

The only other pet I've had was a hamster named Camden (after the Baltimore ballpark).  He was a great hamster but sadly passed away five years ago.

I have a pet arctic fox named Kritter...haha, ok all joking aside. ^^

I have a puppy, a blue heeler named Hakki, she has black, grey, a little white and orange fur, and looks and acts a ton like a fox. I used to have an orange tabby cat named Tigger but he was killed while I was in PA, which tees me off a ton. I miss him SO much!

Otherwise I've had WAY too many pets to mention, and even took in a few stray wild animals, the most memorible were 4 baby raccoons we found. ^^ I still remember nursing those little guys back to health on my chest, they were SO adorable. :) (No one better take that the wrong way :p)

My family's had some dogs, cats, fish, birds, and hamsters.  None of them live with me now as my apartment complex doesn't allow any pets except for fish. O_O Many have died (of course), and my family currently has 7 dogs (across three households), 2 cats, and some fish.

Let's see....

I have 2 cats.

There's Midnight, my 16 year-old Burmese cat. He's almost as old as I am. His hobbies include laying in the sunlight, demanding attention from everyone in the house, and crawling in the panty. I <3 Midnight.

http://www.angelfire.com/ex/funkmonkey/are_you_that_hungry.jpg

And there's Terra. To clarify, he was not named after the character in Final Fantasy 6. He was my grandmother's cat before she passed away. And when she first got him, she called him a "Little Terror!" because when he was younger, he was a little rambunctious. But if you ever heard a thick New England accent, then you'll know that pronouncing Terror comes out sounding like Terra. And the name just stuck.
Anyway, he's a 14 year-old siamese. Terra's hobbies include sleeping, making couches and beds all hairy with his shedding, and demanding he be fed.
http://www.angelfire.com/ex/funkmonkey/terra.jpg

I used to have a dog. A nice golden cocker-spaniel named Sandy. But then I moved to NH and the apartment landlord wouldn't let us have a dog. So we gave it to my aunt to look after. While I could see her anytime I want to, it's been awhile since I've seen her. :(

5 cats. they all crap in the neigbors yard and on the porch and stuff and i deny it because i dont like the people and i think its funny. once they said they were gonna shoot the cat if it crapped on his porch again and i called the cops and they came and yelled at the guy, it was real super duper.

and come the next morning, there was a nice fresh steamy pile of doo doo on his porch.

I just have one dog. His name is Ozzie and he is a simple, plain mute. He has been my best friend for the last 13 years. Unfortunatly he is on his last legs, I don't know what I am going to do when he is gone. Granted I can get a new dog but it will never be the same cause I love him so much. He is not just a pet but a part of the family.

A lot of fish, which really belong to my dad.

I used to have a Dutch rabbit named Oreo (because he was colored like one), but he died a year and a half ago.  But I always mention him as a pet, because I loved him a lot and I wasn't with him when he died.

I have no pets. I hate most domesticable animals. In my house there is a black lab, a rat (my mom swears it's a dog, but I can't believe it. Yorkie, I think she called it), and an evil cat. I'm telling you, that cat is out to kill my family! That thing attacks the dogs, and now I almost like them from a little alliance. Anything that can make me like my family's dogs deserves a slow and painful death. It's after the rest of us too. My brothers are allergic to it, and it keeps rubbing against my legs trying to trip me whenever it would be dangerous for me to fall. If I ever post a message that ends with the same letter(s) being pushed, you know what happened.

With a name like Kame, it's not hard to guess my pets....

I have three turtles, one Red Eared Slider and two Box Turtles. My baby is Filbert, my RES. Sophie and Babette are my Box Turtles.

(go to the folder that's NOT 'artsy stuff'  ;)  )

I also have a dog named Daisy and two cats (a male, Schmelly and a female, Winnie). Of the furry ones, Schmelly is my favorite 'cause he's such a character.

I have three budgies.  Right now they are making a huge racket.  Sigh.  Anyway, the oldest one is trained to come out of the cage, and he can talk, but the second one, she's pure evil.  Sometimes when I talk to her she looks at me like she wants to devour my soul.  :o

probably woulda been a much better way to handle it than claiming to have a gun and shoot a cat... i cant really blame you either, but if the guy wasnt such a tool, i would actually keep them offa his lawn.

Touché.

Oh yeah, I have a 11 year old Visla. He's going blind, and runs into things a lot. I had a guinea pig, but one day I woke up and it was as hard as a hockey puck.

I have a kitty. Her name is Simma. I didn't name her that name, the humane society did. I would have named her Meko or Ukkyo or Gribblefritz or something. Oh, here is a picture of her playing with her Christmas present. She unwrapped it herself, it was really cute. It was Christmas Eve and she went over to it while it was under the tree and sat on it and then she started clawing at the paper and ripped it up. No, she's not incredibly smart, she just could smell the catnip.

I have 5 pets.

4 cats:  Bosco, Stinky, Peeps, and Itchy.  Itchy was named after Ichiro, The Seattle Mariner's outfielder.  (that really fast japanese guy.  He rocks!)  All my cats were named by my Dad, he's...a little odd.

And I have a pet cactus.  His name is Edward, after the cowardly one we all know.

My family has two cats named Lily and Lulu (the animal shelter is responsible for their names, not FFX.)

I love animals. When I was little, I wanted to work with them for a living, until I realized I was allergic to a good majority of them. Cats weren't a problem while I was living with them, but now that I live away from home, I find my allergies acting up whenever I do come home. Sad, since I was thinking of getting a cat once I got my own place.

Our nextdoor neighbours have a budgee similar to that he didn't have a name when we had to take care of him so we called him George.

They also have a cat called Puss which I feed when the neighbours are gone.

Our other next door neighbours have Pidgeons lots of the grey buggers. New York has them and Central Sydney or Parramatta was once overun by them.

These are trained Pidgeons which we dubbed the No 4(mailbox No) flying sh*t squadron.

In the Country our friends have had loads of pets.

Alive and kicking

Polly(Indian Ringneck)
Polly is a funny bird always saying hello and loves to go for walks. He sits on anyones shoulder and mimics cats, other bird and even the disabled daughter of the house.

Rorma(Rosella)
Rorma is also alive has the longest claws you'll ever see and un kept coat. She often escaped her cage and sang when she climbed to the top.

Watermelon (black and brown cat)
Watermelon is the most unpopular of the pets. She is snobbish, part feral and isn't afraid to scratch people. Last visit she was well behaved.

Rastus (white fluffy cat)
Rastus is a well natured cat, we assume this because he is disexed. Rastus is loved by everybody and does absoulte bugger all but sleep on a purple velvet cusion in the sun all day.

Roxy (2yr old Jack Russell)
Roxy is also well loved and is a pet not a working dog. She loves to dig as all Jack Russells do and likes to sit in the fish pond and drink its water, it really annoys the cats. She'll even eat the cats food. Roxy has a limp in one of her hind legs because she was hit by a Toyota but luckily survived.

Jordan (4yr old Aussie Cattle Dog)
Jordan is the newest working dog on in the family of my mates. He hasn't yet learn't to jump on the back of a ute so we have to pick him up. He has however learn't to be a good working dog and knows how to chase up sheep.

Deceased No longer with us.

Painful (13yrs Aussie Cattle Dog)
Painful has equalled the average lifespan. But lets face it this Dog won't die. Painful is named painful because he was just that as a puppy. He is the leader amoung the cattle dogs and can keep even the most aggressive in order. Because he's chained up alot he always has to mark his territory again when let off. Painful is a lonely dog and like me because I'm the only one who pats him.

Boss (Aussie cattle dog)

In his younger years or when I was three. Boss was named aptly because out of all the cattle dogs he was the boss. Boss died when I was around 14 he lived a full 13 year life span.

Patch ( Mini Border Collie, Not really sure)
Patch was a very friendly dog. She had 4 pups and was a great mother to them. Only one of the pups survived. and lives in sydney.

Simba (German Shepard)
Simba was a Champion, he was the funniest dog ever. He'd drink out of the toilet chase the cats. He died when he chased one too many sheep and was shot and buried in an unknown place.

/me looks around the room...

Well, I got a couple dogs... Ozzie and Heriet (sp?). Yes I know just like from the T.V. show. I was personally insulted when my parents named Hariet Hariet. Because Ozzie is my dog and he is named after Ozzie Ozborn. I also have fish and stuff, but no cats  -_- .

Thats about it for me.

Bump from a million years ago. How are everybody's pets doing? Got any new ones since way back when?

user posted image

This is Marvin, my orange tabby. I got him nearly a year ago and he's going on two years old. He is a cuddlemonster and the king of purring. He is currently on my lap, batting at my chest because I am currently typing and not petting him. He is the most loving cat I've ever known. He waits for me to get home from work every day, either in the same spot right by the door or in the window to see me coming, and then he immediately wants to play. Perfect cat!

I have a cat named Kitty. She's old and cranky. Thanks to my wife I inherited a Siamese named Darcy who is without tail. He's a sweet cat, but will jump on my head at 2 am to get attention. When I was younger I had a betta, while at school my mother changed his water before it had time to cool down and fried him, but he somehow snapped out of it and lived for years after. So I called him Lazarus, natch.

My kitty is named Lump. He looks kind of like Sylvester from Loony Toons except for a few small differences. I call him by different names Lumpy, Lumpster Dumpster, Pussy Pu got that one from An American Tail Fievel Goes West and then sometimes I call him Ms. Kitty cause he walks like a girl. tongue.gif
