I finally played kings field 1 and must say that it is pretty hard for a early rpg.

The game itself has some interesting traits, but the game itself starts out of balance in difficulty.

Then again,it is not necessarily a bad thing, but it is always good to start up with simple stuff and move on harder when players are used to the game.

Wow i am at the end and boy is it difficult.

This game exceeds the difficulty of the second one by a lot.

Verdite sure is expensive and only way to get to 60 spell power is to farm skeletons and hope they drop knight swords.

The cash supply isn't very good for endgame enemies.

They should be dropping 500 or so gold.

I just beat the game YEAH!! another game bites the dust

King's Field? Holy blast from the past.

When you say you're playing King's Field 1, are you talking about the Japanese or US version? The original King's Field was only ever released in Japan. I've played King's Field (US) 1 and 2, which are 2 and 3 in Japan. It was quite a fun game back in the day, lots of exploration elements, and at the time I thought the 3D environment and graphics were awesome. Watched a few videos after seeing this thread, and had to laugh at how bad the graphics look now, especially the sword attack. Slow, vertical chop - whoosh! LOL.

Well, I'm sure it would still be fun after all these years, as you certainly seemed to enjoy it. smile.gif

I recently grabbed the game for 10 bucks sealed.
Was pretty awesome from what I had played although hard.

A precursor to Demon's Souls apparently.
And that was the reason I looked for the game even.

Its the original and yes its hard.

I did have a lot of fun playing it though.

I enjoy being able to explore the way the game is,its more like a action packed rpg than story driven.
