So long Dio...may you be throwin' up the horns in the hereafter.

Actually he passed away Sunday morning. So sad, they had said he was starting to recover but apparantly that was a bit of an overstatement.
So ends one of the longest and most fruitful careers in hard rock -------------------- I fear my heart and fear my soul Life goes on, it surely will, Without me and I wonder: Will I ever see light again? Life goes on... |

Man, I love Dio so much. The people who say he was a nice guy when they met him are so spot on. He was a two-way street kind of guy when it came to love and support; if you give him your love and support, I bet your ass he'd definitely remember you and thank you for praising the guy. He's just that awesome! In fact, he even set up a few charities here and there (such as the awesome supergroup Hear n' Aid, whose profits) to help the lives of needy children. Name me other metal musicians who were/are THAT caring? Because the majority of the musicians are just complete assholes that are only worth it when it comes to their musical qualities. Not only that, but Dio gave us power metal, and made the "devil horns" hand signal a very common thing in metal.
I had a hard time coping with the death of the legendary Ronnie James Dio. I could NOT believe it when someone told me he died that Sunday night; I even lost sleep over such a tragic loss, because I looked up to this guy ALL my life. He meant a lot to me. Sure, I don't really have his band t-shirts, his entire discography, or any insane fan memorabilia with me. But the guy (as a frontman/singer/human being) helped influence me to stand up for myself during good and bad times, and his tunes definitely helped save my life when I needed to hear his god-like vocals. PS: In fact, I feel compelled to start my own religion and call it Dioism. I want to write my own bible, which will contain such epic chronological stories of this man's wonderful life, and how his morality has made him into a generally great guy. Dio's loving memory is something that NO ONE can disrespect, unless you're Vivian Campbell (the "Judas" of the Dio Bible). Rest in Peace. \m/ |
