Has anybody heard about this artist? I was just introduced to her yesterday, and I must say, she is a breath of fresh air in the musical genre this generation. I really love the majority of her songs and add to that, her dancing is beyond words! I'm really entranced by her.

Do you mean a breath of fresh air in pop music? If so, then yeah why not. If you mean all music then I'd disagree. The past few years has produced masses of great alternative music.
