I'm currently playing Skies of Arcadia (on and off of course), and generally my Fina character is terrible. She doesn't have much health and so she gets killed a lot, forcing me to use the Riselem item (if I ever want to get her enough experience from battle to survive).
Here's the issue: it says the item has a 50% chance at revival, but, from my experiences, it is much slimmer. I decided to keep track in my two most recent boss battles: the first took me 6 items to finally bring her back to life, and the second took me 5 times. According to my good ol' statistics class that means... something's fishy. Has anyone else encountered odds this bad? -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! Nope. For me it's usually right around 1/2 for Risan crystals. I'm pretty sure Risan is the 50% chance spell and Riselem is the 100% chance spell. This is why I always have Fina run silver magic exp for the entire first third of the game or so, so she learns Riselem and I can stop worrying about revive magic - her silver magic learning speed is so far ahead of everyone else's that it isn't funny. It becomes even less of an issue when Fina learns Lunar Light.
So, yeah, I don't have any good advice for you other than to learn Risan/Riselem magic as soon as possible and maybe to level up a bit. Fina joins at kind of a low level, so around areas like the red moon temple and the green moon ruins (I forgot the names, so sue me) can be a struggle since she won't have learned any effective offense by then. Remember, though, many of her specials (including Lunar Light and Lunar Blessing) automatically go first, ignoring stats, so her low Quickness is a non-issue. -------------------- |
