Anyone having trouble completing payments on eBay using PayPal? I keep getting error messages telling me I've hit a "speed bump". I tried to pay directly on PayPal, effectively bypassing eBay and it won't work either, which makes me think it's PayPal that's the problem.

I haven't bought anything on eBay in months, but I do have a couple things selling there later today, so I guess I'll let you know if my buyers fail. Wouldn't it be easier to find out directly from Paypal, though, if there's a problem?

I did check on the eBay and Paypal sites, combing through their help sections. I saw a few people who asked questions that seemed to be having problems similar to mine. Their questions are answered by other random users though. No way to know if the answerers know what they're talking about. I was just seeking out different opinions through different sources.

Good luck with your sales. What's your eBay user name? I may want to buy whatever it is that you're selling. Then I wouldn't be able to pay you either. Ha ha!

I dunno, my guess for you would be that maybe something that your credit card or bank account has gotten screwed up or something. Card expired, maybe? Seems like they'd give you a better error message, though.

My eBay username is Rangers51. Got a scanner and a laptop power cord up there now, might be trying to sell my old home theatre kit soon though.

PayPal has an issue with processing credit cards at this time. I sat on the phone with some guy for half an hour while he walked me through the payment process. Finally a detailed error message came up. I would think if the PayPal company was having problems he would've known before I called. It makes me think it's a small scale problem, maybe even something specific to my account. His only advice was to try again later. It gave me motiviation to update my bank account information so I can pay that way in a few days. Oh well.
