Even though Firefox is CoN's browser of choice, I'm just curious to see what browser everyone uses.

I actually have five different browsers installed on my computer: Stainless (my main browser), Safari (my primary alternative), Firefox, Camino, and Chrome. I have multiple Gmail/Blogger/YouTube/etc accounts, and it's easier to use a different browser for each set of accounts. Also, I like variety.

When I had my old computer (an HP), I used and loved Chrome (with Firefox as my backup browser), and I still love it. When I got my Macbook after my HP eventually died, I discovered Stainless, since Chrome wasn't, and still isn't, completely finished for Mac, according to Google.

Stainless originally started out as an experiment to create a program similar to Chrome exclusively for Mac, and Mesa Dynamics eventually decided to turn it into a full-fledged browser. Even though it's only at version 0.7.5, I like it a lot. I happen to love Stainless's unique (albeit still slightly buggy) bookmark system, and other features like Single Session tabs are really neat.

I find that I have to have a lot of browsers installed for my job; my main machine at work is an XP box that has Firefox, IE7, Opera, and a virtual machine for IE6; my secondary machine for work has Opera, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, IE8, Minefield (the Firefox nightly builds), and virtual machines for IE6 and 7, all installed on Vista.

I see no reason to move away from Firefox, personally; Chrome's UI, while interesting, is too deviant from the standard for me; Safari for PC is still clumsy and has weird font rendering, last I checked; IE is, well, still IE. With Firefox getting, it seems, faster with each release, I'm not aching to do anything different.

I started using chrome back in september when firefox started causing problems on my new computer. I don't know what exactly was wrong, but when I closed the window the process would continue anyways and continue using processing power so I had to manually close it in task manager every time.

Now that I'm used to chrome, though, I don't see myself going back, it's a really great browser. Another plus of it is that some of my friends have been complaining about how they're seeing chrome ads everywhere now, and I don't have to deal with them! The one drawback though is that there isn't a big library of useful plugins yet, and as far as I know the only way to permanently enable them in your browser anyway is through some registry edit, which is honestly a bit too much trouble for me. For that reason I still use firefox sometimes for the youtube downloader plugin.

Contrary to my friends' hemming and hawing, I still use Internet Explorer 8, with Firefox for those websites that I only visit occasionally and don't bother to memorize the URL (saving tabs is great).

I maintain use of IE instead of switching to another browser simply because of my familiarity with it. "Go with what you know" is my philosophy.

Chrome all the way. I like things on my computer to be light and speedy. Firefox is only a second or two slower, but it's still a bit wearing at times when I'm firing through a lot of pages quickly.

I've been using Firefox pretty strictly for some time now. It's easy, simple and quick, which is basically all I expect from a web-browser. The fact that it can be tricked out as much as it can is an added benefit as well.

I know several people who like to switch back and forth between it and Chrome, or it and Safari, but I never saw the point of using multiple browsers.

Chrome all the way! I used to use IE and for a short time FF, but Chrome is simply superior.

I also stick with IE for the fact I've used it my whole life. I'm sure if I was on a buddy's computer and they had a different browser and I tried it I would like it but I'm not so I don't. I have Opera on my phone but I only use it when I'm viewing a website that doesn't have a specific mobile version.

Bingo. I've got IE too, and have never really experienced any need to not like it. When I'm at school though, where there's only macs, I use Firefox over Safari, which I find to be pretty slow in comparison.

I switched over to Firefox a couple years ago and I haven't looked back.
