I rarely ever have trouble using Sabin's four other blitz techniques (pummel, suplex, aura bolt, flame dance). But I have never been able to get this one to work. Its never happened. The blitz I'm talking about is the one that heals the party, I think, its supposed to be RLRLXY. Is the combo itself posted incorrectly in the game? I'm referring to Final Fantasy "3" on SNES.

No, that's correct. The Blitz moves are just really difficult to use sometimes. Just think about how your're doing it. It's one of those things, once you get it, you'll get the hang of it.

No, L and R refer to the top shoulder buttons. Left and right and symbolized by a Left or Right arrow, much like it would in an arcade fighter (Tekken, Street fighter, etc.)

Quote (Makatak @ 1st January 2010 22:16) and is the L and R referring to the shoulder buttons or the directional? Are you playing on the SNES or the GBA? Edit Oh, sorry, nevermind. They're the buttons on top. Just take a couple battles and try it again. Preferably easy battles where you can afford to make a mistake. And if you can't get it (which I doubt), don't worry about it. Just stock up on healing items. This post has been edited by BlitzSage on 2nd January 2010 05:57 -------------------- |

I think i figured out what went wrong. The L and R shoulder buttons must be more sensitive than the other keys, because I tapped them very briefly when doing the blitz input, this time, and it worked.

Glad you got it working. Enjoy the rest of the game! -------------------- |

My first time going through the game I played with a friend all the time and I always controlled Sabin. Well of course I got to where I hardly ever missed a blitz. Then something happened and I couldn't hit Bum Rush ever. I had to stop cntrolling him because my friend got so pissed off. So I quit using him for a few days and everything was OK. Once I failed a few times I must've started trying too hard or something. It was really frustrating.

I remember I had serious troubles using Sabin's blitzes when I first started playing the game (mind you, my age was single digits back then), to the point where I needed a friend to beat Vargas if I started a new game.
I had similar trouble with Bum Rush when I replayed the game some years later, as I tried rotating the d-pad to get the command to go. Fortunately a visit to the web showed me that you can substitute (if that's the right word) the directionals for either of the adjacent directions. For instance, if a command was "left, left-up, up" you could do "left, left, up" or "left, up, up" instead. I don't know if that helps anyone, but I figure I'd throw it in if anyone else read this because they were having trouble with Sabin's blitzes. -------------------- "A little tight, but the price was right" - Locke "Oh, what a Fuddy Duddy" - Relm "..." - Shadow "I'm a General, not some love starved twit" - Celes "Although Edgar showers his attention on the ladies, most are smart enough to pay him no attention.
