Have you guys ever come across something that a character looks innocent but spews a line and looks malicious in a rpg? I encountered this in tales of symphonia.
There is a little girl in this game with a axe who has no emotions and her town burns down, the first time i used her i heard her say BEAST!! it sounded like someone saying i hate you mother%" and im going to kill you.You understand right? it really surprised me to hear this little girl spew that line in such a evil manner and she didn't seem like a little girl at all after that. Another thing i always loved, was comic relief in battles of any sort. Did you guys notice that in grandia 2,that millenia had the best lines in the game? Every line she spews in combat is funny as hell,i like what she says when she throws a bolt of lightning. One of the reasons i love gau in final fantasy 6,is the fact that he is a funny character and innocent as hell, both sabim gau and cyan do a huge part in the comedy, although locke is also a wonderful character if i must admit and in fact one of my favorite ff6 characters. How about you guys? got any dialects worth mentioning from games? lines that made you laugh? lines that surprised the hell out of you and made you jump? Selphie has some funny lines in FFVIII, such as "Blow it to smitherines with a rocket launcher!" as a suggestion of what to do with the president of Galbadia's train. Also, her suggestion of skinning a moomba and using it as a disguise when the team was inprisoned was pretty funny.

I'm not sure if it counts but if anyone can remember the beginning of conkers bad hair day he rips the N64 logo with a chainsaw while saying "Stupid logo."

One of the best games for that sort of stuff is Fallout 3. Most of the dialogue in that game is like that; it just jumps out at you. But I don't know if I can post any of it, since most of it has quite a bit of profanity in it.

But I don't know if I can post any of it, since most of it has quite a bit of profanity in it. In Fallout 2 (which is amazing, by the by) I had one save where I'd stumbled upon a random event that left me decidedly uneasy and has stuck with me forever in my gaming history annals. It was one of the random map occurrences on the world map and it was this dog, just standing, in the midst of all these corpses and wreckage and mayhem, and it just started to follow me and followed me for the rest of the game. Best part, though, is that whenever you'd click on it, it'd say "It's that damned bad luck dog again..." It's things like that I think BlitzSage is referring to. As a note, the dog reduced my luck, and that of anyone I engaged in battle with to, I THINK, negative something? Or at least zero... I can't recall, but it honestly harmed them more often than it did me, which was awesome. I've also been playing SoM again recently, and I can't remember them exactly, but I know the Sprite has some random uncharacteristic outbursts like that... I seem to remember him wanting to beat up an old man or somesuch...? Legend of Mana also has some random moments in it too. Speaking of such, I need to go play that game again... Then I'll have more legit quotes for reals! Finally, I concur, I'm playing FFVIII now and Selphie definitely holds the prize for randomness. I also enjoyed the moomba remarks in the prison haha! -------------------- Games on the Go Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy: Four Warriors of Light Baldur's Gate Too much to play, so little time! But what I was talking about is stuff like in Arefu, where you meet this crazy woman that has no idea that the apocolypse has happened. Later, she'll offer you cookies, and a tin can will show up in your inventory. -------------------- |

Everyone seems to always love the little guy roan and the priest girl in grandia II,but the one wich seems to be the funniest is definately millenia.
A game i haven't mentioned yet that has a funny part is dungeon keeper: There is a female whip girl un dungeon keeper and every time i let the door open this class of female whip girl tortures herslef and it doesn't kill her. Its both aggravating as hell and funny. When torturing the enemy females of this class they don't die literally and must be killed in combat. Another game that harbors comedy is the series of metal gear solid. In mgs3 there are sone funny face paints and dressing styles, like sumo wrestler and zombie facepaint. -------------------- We are stardust. Our bodies are made from the guts of exploding stars. Dungeon Keeper two had many funny parts I mean you could slap your creatures and box them in with no food or sleep for most of the game, You also get The Red Reaper called Horny in II who kills friend and foe alike ... sometimes

i know its not serious , but the conversations by the announcers in Madworld for the Wii are hillarious. Sometimes its quite unexpected the random stuff they start talking about. Your running around killing people in a sin-city type atmosphere and they start talkin about wives or cheerleaders...
