I love metal gear solid saga

But metal gear solid 4 was a little disappointing in a few aspects.

1:I found the game got boring sometimes and seemed linear at moments
2:Too much action not enough spying
3Too much drama, and ontop its forced down your throat, first naomi and i roll my eyes and ontop i didn't really like her, then everything else.
4:Too long videos,it seems more like a movie than a game, this is not a movie

5:I like to explore places bu you don't really explore much, there seems to be less about exploring since every time you finish a mision you move.

I'm sorry but this game just feels like another medal of honor.

Anybody here feel disappointed with metal gear solid 4?

I quite enjoyed it. There is a lot to do in the game and masses of scope for replayability. I don't agree with any of your points unfortunately.

I didn't think it was ever boring. If there was a lull in the fighting you constantly had to be prepared for the next attack. Maybe you should play it on a higher difficulty setting?

The game allows you to play with either fighting or spying. There are rewards for playing the game through without ever being seen. The amount of action in the game is entirely at the player's discretion. Didn't you say it was boring before?

You can rely on the codec to carry the story forward. The drama is not forced down your throat because there is always an opportunity to skip it.

With the videos, again you can skip it all if it's boring.

Like I said with the action to spying ration, exploration is almost entirely down to the player. There are a lot of different ways to complete objectives and alternative roads to new areas. I thought that it was almost as good as MGS3 in this regard.

For me the whole game was a blast. I thoroughly enjoyed it, despite the story being quite poor in places.

I didn't say you couldn't go around in a spying way,but some ways were impossible to get through without getting detected, like the the very end where there are tones of geckos and those rolling things, and almost no chaff grenades in the game.

The game actually has alot more action and fight through than others and alot of scenes you had to actually shoot through.

2:You can skip the whole story but then why bother play a game? the story had its good parts but the drama was of the worst kind.

3:Less weapons and more spy gadgets, this isn't soposed to be like some of those code of honor and games like that or gears of war.

Although the gecko part was cool,i liked killing big machines and i certainly love disabling em.

So to sum it up:

Yes it was better than metal gear solid 2 but metal gear solid 3 was the best

Mgs3-MGS1-MGS4-MGS2

i love the first metal gear solid.

and its also alot harder since you are forced to go into hand 2 hand combat and you can get killed easily.

I've got a bit of rant of my own on this, now that I remember.

What is with the extensive smoking exercises Snake goes through in the loading screens? I don't smoke much, maybe two or three a week either throughout or all in one night, sometimes none at all. Every time I see that loading screen, and see Snake enjoying his cigarette a little bit too much, I get a serious rush for one. I know the game has a kind of anti-smoking agenda, but it doesn't achieve it very well at all. Whenever Otacon or someone denies him a cigarette I still think "hmm I need one now." It's like I've been denied a cigarette as well.
