This is going to be an extremely long post.


I would like to post why i think suikoden 1 and 2 are great games.

Suikoden 1 story is that you start out as a young man who is the son of a great general named teo mcdohl.Teo mcdohl goes off and your adventure starts out meeting your really good friend Ted.Your friend ted is captured and taken away and he gives you his rune and asks you to protect it and later on during the game you begin to realize the goverment is corrupt.You and all the great characters begin your quest to start a new empire and to conquer others.

This game has many great features with legendary characters such as:Flick and victor going to characters such as pahn and characters like Ted your really good friend.

Anyways as you know,this game is a strategy game during wars and during most of the fight scenes it takes place as normal rpgs do in a turn based style.

You got a total 3 diferent types of combat you will experience during this game,all wich keep it from being boring.

1:regular turnbased style wich you experience during the scenes in dungeons and walking around on the world map and exploring.

2:War combat in wich you will see a scene such as this:

This consists of attacking with a type paper scissor and rock game.
magic wipes out melee guys,archers kill magic users and melee guys kill archers.

3:Vs combat wich is like this:

In this game you will find that you are dueling.

Duel is same.

Desperate attack wich you can either attack someone who is not defending and do the highest damage possible.

Defend wich you can counter desperate attack.

Regular attack wich its name says all,but beware in case your enemy does a desperate attack.

The second thing to do in this game is collect 108 characters,some of wich are very hidden,but first you must get to the storypart where they give you the castle as in all this series does.Once you have your castle you can start collecting members

I forgot to mention another thing:In suikoden you can carry up to 6 characters at a time and fight with them all.

With all 6 characters you can perform special moves and in the newer games you can forge bonds and learn move with other fellow 108 characters,in this one the abilities are with people of close ties or trained together with.

as you can see,as you level up you gain magic points in 2 runes up to 6 or 8 in level 1 magic 4 or 5 in level 2 and 3 or so in level 3 magic.

You can even create scrolls from rune of high lvl to cast

Yes this is inside your own castle,you can hire storekeepers ,storage keeper armorers,even your own spa.
