I got linked to this really cool website on another forum I go to. If you guys have ever played on the 20 question toys that guess what you're thinking, this is a lot like that only much more eerie and it focuses on people and characters. It's possible to stump it, but only if you REALLY try. I put in Marina from mischief makers as my first one and it got it on its first try. Check it out

Yeah it's pretty cool. It got Tintin and Louis from L4D right first time. Marcus Fenix had to go via Jim Raynor, but that's not too bad.

Holy cow. It only took about fourteen questions to get Uncle Pennybags from Monopoly. It got Frank Lloyd Wright after all twenty questions - how, I don't friggin' know. It didn't even seem close. It got GLaDOS much more easily, same with Bender.
However, I stumped him on Chief Illiniwek (it guessed Smokey the Bear and later Uncle Sam). Then I ran out of things on my desk to inspire me. All in all, pretty impressive, though I feel pretty confident in saying that its accuracy can only grow from people playing it. It definitely didn't start out a genius. ![]() -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

This is a fun little time waster. It does have a pretty comprehensive list of people and characters, but those that are not in are later added by the person that stumped it. Chances are you won't stump it with the same character again. 4chan has also been blitzing this guy for about a year, so expect some strange answers.

It took 24 questions for it to get Relm from FF6. It got Lightning from FF13 on #20. It got Sabin on 14 and Abe Lincoln on 16. Pretty neat.

This is hugely entertaining. He got John Casteen III after about 40 questions, but was unable to nail John Singleton Mosby (American Civil War colonel), despite guessing several other Civil War figures. Sometimes it's so good, it's scary. He got Jack Skellington in 20 questions when the first 18 or so did not seem to be anywhere near on-target.

I almost got it with Bill Ward. After 23 questions it suddenly asked if my character was a member of Black Sabbath, and then got it.
Then it nailed Matsuda from Death Note. How I have no idea. This thing is evil. EDIT: Stumped it with Orual from Till We Have Faces by CS Lewis. A friend of a friend of mine was thinking about Winnie the Pooh once and it guessed Pedobear. 4chan people definitely used that.
It didn't know Levi from "Fairy Tail". Edit Lol, after getting "yes" answers for questions: "is your character yellow?", "is your character a pokemon?" and "does your character produce electricity?" it asked if my character played heavy metal. That was weird. This post has been edited by Silver_Zombie on 10th December 2009 10:09 -------------------- You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one... |

Quote (BlitzSage @ 9th December 2009 23:43) Has anybody tried Akinator? Edit Oh, he knows himself! lol It's actually the most-used character, I think, if I remember what I saw in the stats. Edit Just beat him again with Paloma Picasso. I'm not surprised. However, it did get Frank Gehry on the 40th question, which was pretty impressive. I stumped him with Mr. Crow from Unreal Tournament, but otherwise this thing is proving to be really tricky to outsmart. He guessed my first attempt in about five questions. (The character was Starscream.)

I've shown this to so many people now. He's not so good with British monarchs and stumped on Robert Burns also. To be fair to him, I don't know half the questions he was asking on Burns so maybe if I did he would be accurate. Is your character Scottish? Yes. Is your characters a poet? Yes. Does your character write poetry? Yes. Is your character famous because of the sea? No. I see... Geoffrey Chaucer!

My girlfriend just stumped it with an actress from her home country (Korea), Son Ye Jin. He guessed a Japanese porn star after we had already told him she didn't work in porn and was Korean. Then, he guessed two wrong Korean actresses and asked if she was Chinese. I think this one kind of threw him a curve ball...

He got Terry Pratchett so quickly it's not even funny!
I tried getting him to give Boba Fett and guessed himself thrice before admitting he was stumped. And he got Luso Clemens from FFTA2 in one go! Something may have been wrong. He asked me if the character was a bounty hunter. I think where I stumped him was that he asked whether he was evil or not. I said I don't know. Because he's not really evil, he just kills people for money. But that probably didn't stump him, because he did ask if he would be considered evil, and I said yes. -------------------- |
