Honestly, I don't think there's really any doubt that the Wii and DS are the most successful console and handheld of the generation.
However, I am a FFFB (Final Fantasy FanBoy), and so I will be buying a PS3 at some point to play XIII/Versus XIII. Not a question. I will wait until the games come out to let the price of the console slip as much as possible. Here's a question. What's Nintendo going to do for the next gen? |

This is what I would do if I were in charge.
1) Research and more research. They need to get back on the forefront in technology, especially since the other two are getting into that game. 2) Beef up the system. Get a better hardrive for the next gen to rival whatever Sony and Mic. would come out with. 3) Diversify the portfolio. Not too much, but they need to get some more of those blockbuster titles for their system. -------------------- |

I don't own any of them, but, if I were to choose I'd pic the 360 for GTA 4; I love that game but can only play it at my friend's house.
I prefer the PC version of Fallout III though; I want it sooo bad but my computer doesn't have the balls to run it. -------------------- |

That actually opens things up. We forgot about the PC. How does that configure into the discussion for you guys? -------------------- |

The PC is a whole different kettle of fish, or can of worms, depending on which cliché you prefer.
Games usually play better on PC if you have the right specs, so it is arguably the best gaming platform. However, local co-op is never as good as on consoles, even if you're using a LAN. Internet gaming is better on PC because, for me, all the best online games are on it. I much prefer playing games with a pad than my laptop's keyboard, or for that matter, a motion-sensitive controller, so classic consoles like PS2 will always be better. If you hook up a pad to the PC it nullifies the keybinds; one of the most important benefits of PC gaming. Also I like the easy-going nature of console gaming. Although big developers are trying their hardest to end this bonus, I like just being able to put in the game and play it without any hassle. PC makes you work for your optimal gaming experience. The PC doesn't really fit into this topic any further than that. I don't think we see PC generations like on the consoles. In the console wars of late I've seen people claim smugly that they have a Pentium 5 Erectus with all the trimmings and therefore they don't need to be part of the battle, which is true, but doesn't go far enough. I think everyone is a PC gamer, either periodically or permanently. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |

I like all three consoles, but my very personal favorite is the Xbox360 because most of my friends play on it. That and I prefer some of the RPGs on that console.
I am hoping to see more epic RPGs on the PS3 besides the Final Fantasy XIII. PS2 has a large chunk of excellent RPG classics. |

Let's see... my video game progress growing up was:
Atari, NES, SNES, PS1, PS2/XBox, PS3. That being said, after seeing what Sony is doing, I will NEVER buy another Playstation product. 99% of the games that I play are available on both systems, most of my friends are on XBox, FF won't be exclusive, and Sony discontinued backwards compatability with their systems. Not only that but they're skimping on ports and everything else to stay price comparable. I'm sorry, but I'm willing to pay for quality, and now they're reducing their prices to sell junk to compete with the X360. Every game I have that I'm really interested in is also on the 360, plus they have an exclusive or 2 that I want. I'd say Wii or 360. I don't have a 360 in the house, but we do have a Wii and PS3. --FizzIII -------------------- My collection: NES: Final Fantasy SNES: Final Fantasy II & III PS1: FF Origins, Chronicles, Tactics, Anthology, VII, VIII, IX PS2: FF X, X-2, XII |

After seeing the hilarious display of mimicry at the last E3, I think it's at least safe to say that both Sony and Microsoft logged in and answered this poll with "the Nintendo Wii"

The SNES and the Gameboy.
Oh not an option? Bummer, I'll null vote then. -------------------- If god is all-forgiving then why do we have to kill people in his name? |
