Yes since like Ramza, he's very handy with Martial Arts/Punch Arts. But the if you're saying his normal class. Than I have to try to deal with the fact that I need Short Charge just so his cooler and stronger attacks works

never use him. i get him as a character, but he just stays at level 1. i dont think he has any place in FFT. he was put in the game to give ff7 fanboys a reason to buy fft. i cant stand it...
balthier on the other hand is from the land of ivalice, so he fits in the world just fine. but cloud.... nah. -------------------- "Life: The deepest cut that wilt not heal. I like to use him. He has unique moves that are fun to use (provided short charge is equipped), and he's not powerful, so it's challenging to build him into a great team member. I make him a geomancer to get a strength boost, and use his "soldier" set as a secondary. Finish touch is an extraordinary move. Cool hair.

I like Cloud, his sprite is cute and he's not over-powered. I just left him in his Soldier class since he can equip a ribbon, gave him short charge as a support ability, move +3 as a movement ability, damage split as a reaction ability, and elemental as a secondary skill for when none of his limits will go off in time. This might not be the best set up, since elemental doesn't benifit from the short charge support ability, but he gets along all right. It is a shame he needs the materia blade to use his limits, as his skillset would have benifitted from the MA boosting ability of the rune blade.

I do love final fantasy 7 so I used him quite a bit. His only problem was it took too long for most of his skills, so he wasn't as useful as he could have been.

My real qualm with FFT Cloud is the requirement he use the piddly Materia Blade. Sure, his ability to equip a Ribbon is nice, but choosing to wear the the Ribbon comes with a commensurate cost, lower HP (and likely, since in the end the other real choice is the Thief Hat, 2 Spd, which is nothing to scoff at). With the exception of Finish Touch, none of his abilities are particularly cheesy (especially considering the hefty charge times); why did they have to further gimp him by forcing the Materia Blade on him? Don't misunderstand me though, I really like Cloud (though not in a fanboy-ish way) and think he's a nice addition to an absolutely fantastic game. |

On my godly file, in which I'm trying to get everyone at lvl. 99 with 99 exp and all jobs mastered (except Summoner), I used him, but he was a huge pain in my behind. He's far too underleveled, not worth the work, and I hate him as a character, so he has little, if any, draw for me at all.

Although late in the game...and only coming in at level 1...(Square really should have thought that one out) I found him to be enjoyable in game play....It was a challenge to catch him up (Like 60 levels) and he pays off in the end with some pretty awsome moves ......That Materia blade needed to go (Again Square really should have thought that one out better!!!!)
I guess I'll always have a soft spot for Cloud in any game............ |

I have to admit, perhaps with a little shame, that I mostly use him because of fan-girliness. I have no complaints about how long it takes to level him up. He's so weak he can just wail on one of my other characters, so long as I unequip their reaction so they don't kill him on accident. And I feel he does fit in the game, since it explains where he was while he was missing in FFVII. And that scene with Aeris is so sweet... he'll protect her in any world.
