...because the next installment in everybody's favorite RPG series has been confirmed to be a Japan exclusive for 2009. Sadly, North American audiences can't expect to try the first next-gen Final Fantasy until after April 2010... and if you're in Europe, well, don't hold your breath.
Oh, well. In the meantime, why not go pick up Final Fantasy Legend II? Or Chrono Trigger? Or Dragon Quest IV? Again? Source: GameSpot -------------------- Veni, vidi, dormivi. |

Humour me: if FF13 were your primary reason for wanting a PS3, and you wanted it at a low price, why wouldn't you just buy an Eggbox 360?

I was also considering waiting for FF13 to buy a PS3, but the secondary motivation there was to have a Blu-Ray player, since I expect it will be around for quite some time. That, and both of my roommates already have 360s.

I want to play 13 *and* Versus 13, of which the latter is a PS exclusive. I will never buy an XBox both on principle and because I hate Microsoft products.
The PS3 is worth it as a Blu Ray player, and since I know I will want a Blu Ray player, I may as well get the PS and get my FF fix with it. However, I don't see the need to upgrade to Blu Ray RIGHT NOW, so I can wait until FFXIII comes out. |

I couldn't agree more, if square-enix pulls this stunt off...I can only imagine the amount of complaints they'll get....till 2010?! and a euro a faint hope...wtf are they thinking of?

I would like to point out that gaps between games are always longer when jumping to a new system/gen. For example, the gap between 6 and 7. So this is for me, at least, expected.

I wanted FFXIII this year...
...Sadness... Oh well, I suppose there are lots of other fish in the sea to keep me preoccupied. Also, 10 had been in development for some time, whereas XIII only went into production AFTER XII came out.
