The more robust audio quality on the Playstation have been replaced by much lower quality midi renditions of the soundtrack. It works, but it sounds much less impressive than the original.
The PC version is notoriously glitchy. It needs several patches to run on any modern machine to correct issues with current graphics cards, to enable the FMV sequences to be shown (and not be displayed upside down.) and not to mention to allow the mini games within the game itself to function properly. On the plus side, there are several mods for the PC version that can alter your game experience, but all of which add the risk of corrupting your save and losing any and all progress. It might also just be me, but the game visually looks significantly less polished. It wasn't the most impressive game in the first place, graphically, but the PC version is definitely the weaker of the two. If you have the choice, go with the PSX version. -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

The graphics are technically somewhat improved on the PC version, and I've always felt they look that way too, with the exception of the odd-looking mouths added to the field characters. The fonts have been improved to work with the doubled screen resolution. It's possible now to play the PSX version in an emulator to improve the screen resolution, but this always results in slightly glitchy looking models (as in PSX emulation in general), something you won't see on the PC. It doesn't look BAD emulated, but it's not as sharp. On the minus side, the static area backgrounds have not been redrawn at the higher resolution, so they don't seem to "connect" with the higher res models well. This gets even worse when the background animates - there's a noticable transition from the static background to the video.
Also worth noting are a few cleanups to the some of the worst mistranslations - no more Touph Ring, no more "Off course", no more "This guy are sick". However, as Dragon_Fire says, it's a real struggle to get the PC version working well nowadays, considerably more so than emulating the PSX version - to the point that I'd be going down the emulation route were I to replay the game now. |

I was told that One Winged Angel is in midi in the PC version - no lyrics. That's about as much as I know 'bout it.

If you have a soundfont capable sound card, a special soundfont is loaded to give you the OWA vocals. In theory. I don't think the detection works that well on modern systems, like so much else.
