Some of you may have a vague recollection of 2 years ago when I posted a similar topic announcing my participation in the Tournament of Roses Parade. Well here I be again, hailing my business all about.
Last year, the Kingwood band began making arrangements to work out possible destinations for this year. These included DC for the Inauguration, Chicago for St. Patrick's, and New York at Carnegie Hall, listed in order of importance. Well, as some of you may have heard, the winner of last year's election was not exactly a huge fan of red states. That along with complications in trip planning and funds led to Washington being knocked off the list. Shortly before this, however, we received word from Chicago that were accepted to participate in the parade there, which immediately trumped the New York event. Which is absolutely perfect for a paddy and Chicagophile such as myself. Two years ago, we were given a very nice segment during the parade on HGTV, where I even got my own close-up (1:05). This time I hear we may get a spot on WGN, though I don't know if anyplace else hosts the show. And no, like last time I cannot put on anything particular to distinguish myself, though we will be cuddling up for warmth so I may be able to point myself out again afterwards. So once again, wish me luck and Don't Mess with Texas Edit If anybody here is from Chicago, mind telling me what the weather's like? I hear if it gets too cold the 14th, we can't march (metal mouthpieces and wet lips = scene from Christmas Story) -------------------- I fear my heart and fear my soul Life goes on, it surely will, Without me and I wonder: Will I ever see light again? It's been pretty nice lately, in the 50s and 60s. I think it's supposed to drop a little this week, but not below freezing.
