Can't find the ULTIMATE weapon?!

After it fled from the lake near Junon, I tried following him, but he kept disappearing everytime. Now I'm looking everywhere but I can't find it all.
Any suggestions on how to locate it ?  Thanks |

o look for it over these areas: the lake near Junon, Mideel, Mount Nibel and Mount Corel

For some reason, it's still not there
either that or it's camouflaged or something I tried like 5 times to find it, Idk what's wrong |

try spending some time doing something else, like chocobo riding or breeding, or buying items etc, and then go back to them

I found him, but it doesn't seem to set on land, it keeps on flying.

I did everything except for the final battle and the Ancient Forest, but I can't seem to find the springy thing plant, so I'm stuck doing this.

try hitting it with bahamut zero + quadra magic. i only had to chase it twice because every time i would hit 7000x4

i just kept following the weapon. only once did i lose it and it was really awkward to find again. he should stay above the forest when hes neraly dead shouldnt he?? well after beating him i got a nice present

still no its something else, but the apocalypse is a great sword! when i beat the ultimate weapon, he hit the only character with the enemy materia equipped with shadow flare! he died but i just enjoyed myself.

I'm dredging up old threads instead of finding new ones.
I'm thoroughly confused. I just got done fighting Ultimate Weapon. He took off. didn't know I was supposed to follow him or something so now I have no idea where he went. I want to beat him now. Do I find him hovering over a town or is he flying around somehwere? If he is flying, do I then ram him until he stops? I've checked all the locations listed in the walkthrough but I still can't find him. Please help. Edit: Found some other posts on the topic. Guess I need to beat Diamond Weapon first? You have to keep flying into him until he stops just like you say. As for finding him, I just fly around the world until I see him. I'm 99% sure from my own experience that you won't find him hovering over a town without the hits, so I wouldn't bother flying from town to town. I remember holding 'Up' and R1 to spin the Highwind in a 360 degree arc in the centre of the world map. That seemed to be a good way of spotting him.

Can I find him right after I fight him in Mideel? Another thread suggested that I have to wait until after Diamond Weapon has been defeated.

I fought him right after I beat Diamond, personally, but I do remember him being there before the raid on Midgar.
