Ok well my Wii's AC power cord broke and i was looking to get another one so i did a bit of research and found out an aussie one cost $40!!

Then ebay told me i could get an american one then a plug adapter all together for around $20 so naturally that seemed like the better idea.

However im a bit cautious and am wondering if this will work seeing as far as i know here in Australia we run 240v and America something lower? Will this damage my Wii in any way if so i wish to risk nothing.

If anyone has any information on wether this would work and other related information that would be great.

Thanks

20 Dollars isn't alot of money, i'd just stay on the safe side really.

Well I don't know if you have bought one by now, but I just figured I'd let you know that I use an adapter for all of my electronics in South Korea and they do use a higher voltage than we do here in the US and all my stuff was fine. I don't see why you would have any problem with it.. I think the cheaper one with the adapter will work out just fine.

Well, I don't forsee a problem, the adapter should work just fine. If you can get the cord, adapter, and the S&H for each paid cheaper than $40 bucks, I'd go with it.

On the other hand... does your Wii have a warranty? maybe you can get one free.

Hey Balze, I hate to revive old threads but I'm a little curious to know if you settled for the cheaper one with the adapter, and if that worked out ok, incase I ever have to do the same thing in Australia.
