In your opinion, what single player (or multiplayer, but not including online games) has best endgame play among RPGs?
what I mean by that is once you get to the point where you literally got everything there's actually something to do. (I know most mmorpgs have good endgame experience compared to a single player game since single player game's mostly about story ). by a game having good endgame experience, I do not mean a game that takes forever to get to endgame, but games that you actually have something to do endgame. I guess I should start first, but I haven't actually got to endgame for any games. but I say i'm talking about FF6, then... - Even after learning all the magic skills, you can still equip espers to summon them. - There're many challenging places to go (well actually probably not if you are level 99)- gogo's cave, pheonix cave, ancient castle, thattowerwhereyoucanonlyusemagic. - Colossium's some challenge isn't it ? xP by endgame for ff6, you are assumed not only to beat the game, but beat every bosses, earned all the magic skills, maxed level, best gears for all the characters, etc. sooo...; what do you think? are there any rpgs u can enjoy endgame? i gotta say ff7 because of the optional bosses and the battle collesuem is quite tricky even with high level characters
i guess ff12 aswell cause its gets ridiculasly tricky with the marks -------------------- I remember... That night, we talked for the first time. I didn't know it then, but after that night, everything changed. For everyone... For me... ~Tidus |

I would say FFVI as well. Before the end of the world it doesn't really stand out in the series, but the WoR transforms the game completely. The airship music 'Find Your Friends' and the world map 'Dark World' are about as perfect as music can be for this moment in the game. Just the idea of Celes, of all people, regrouping the team one year in the future is really great to play. There is so much to discover. Then when you assemble your parties to try and take Kefka's tower... Makes me want to play it again now. What I really like about FFXII is that, aside from all the possible sub-plots unfortunately, the game itself is really similar to the WoR. The only small problem I've got with this 'endgame' as Bismark87 says is that you have to grind through the rest of the game to play it. I suppose if we didn't see the WoB then the WoR wouldn't be the same.
I would be very tempted to say FFXII, but the whole game seems like an 'endgame' with all the hunts, rare game and secrets along the way. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |
