So I went to the Ancient Castle and didn't use the walkthrough. It took me a while to get all the treasures and I fought a ton of random battles. I'm leveled up way too high for this point in the game(low 70's) and no one even came close to challenging me. I think I've gotten everything and walk all the way out to the airship.

But I knew the damned Blizzard Orb was somewhere in the castle.

So I check a walkthrough on a different site and it pinpoints the exact location of the relic and it was seriously the only place in the whole castle I didn't look. I hope it's worth it, I have yet to use it.

I had planned on going to the Triangle Island to pick up a certain someone but after wasting so much time re-entering the castle I decided to turn it off.

Don't know if anyone here can edit the walkthrough but the location of the

Seriously, you don't need to ever use Umaro. Don't sweat it. smile.gif

Also, on the Doom Darts/Trump issue, there was a switch up with the translations, and was was Doom Darts in the original was relabeled Trump in the PSX version and vice versa.

It's been like 10 years since I originally beat the game so I don't really remember, but do you take all your party members into the final battle with Kefka? Then as they die off they're replaced? Maybe I'm thinking of another game.

Also I'll be ascending Fanatic's Tower here soon and read that it might be a good idea to bring Umaro along. I should'nt have any problems anyways. I have a couple of economizers, everyone knows Ultima and I'm in the process of learning Quick.

So when I cast it, whomever I cast it on gets to instantly attack, then attacks twice per turn? I've never used it before, so...

As for the final battle,
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
You pick twelve party members to form three parties of up to four each, and you storm Kefka's tower with these three parties. Then, at the final battle, you're asked to make an ordered list of the characters you've brought, and the top four will start the battle. If any of them happen to be KO'd at the end of the first stage, they'll be replaced by the next character in the list, until the list is emptied (where I don't know what happens but I presume they stay in your party). That keeps on happening every time you move one tier up Kefka's stack of crazy things.

As for Quick, I think it only works once and you have to cast it again for it to work again. So it only gives one free turn to a character. But I've never used it in any FF game, so I'm not sure.

quick just gives your character a free turn whenever you use it, it's handy but you can live without it.

to get the most out of it use the gem box or (whatever it's called in the GBA version) and the economizer to cast a spell of your choice followed up by quick. I THINK you can abuse it quite shamefully.

I tried Quick. Seems a bit overrated but like you said with the Gem Box you might be able to cast Ultima, Quick, Ultima, Quick, Ultima, Quick, etc. I don't have the Gem Box yet, so I can't try it. Seems the game would stop someone from "cheesing" so bad.

If in theory you could continually cast spells, could you then Mimic that long process with Gogo? I will take on the Fanatic's Tower sometime in the next few days and hope to try all this out.

Back on the topic of Umaro, anyone ever try using him in the Colosseum? You don't have to worry about him casting Float or using Spiraler. Give him the Blizzard Orb and the Gauntlet or Hero Ring or something. Marvel Shoes would be good. Make sure you have a Snow Muffler. Seems he'd be pretty ideal. Can he use the Genji Glove or Offering?

[EDIT] OK. Went back and researched some of this. You cannot repeatedly cast "Quick". If you cast it and try casting it again while selecting your two immediate attacks it will just miss. You can still use the Gem Box, cast Ultima, Quick, Ultima, Ultima though. Pretty strong strategy.

Gogo can't copy your entire "Quick" attack. Only the last spell cast, obviously. Better to have him Mimic someone using the Gem Box without Quick.

I'm in the process of leveling up Umaro to Level 99. I have no Gauntlet to give him but I did give him an Atlas Armlet and he's doing 9999's with his supplemental attacks and 8000's with his Bone Club. He cannot equip the Genji Glove. I gave him the Offering and he did fine, but it significantly lowered his attack power on his "Character Toss" and his "Tackle"(Or whatever it is) attack. He doesn't seem to have picked up the Snow Muffler on his own. I assumed he would equip it like he does the Bone Club. Any ideas why? His D would be much better with the Snow Muffler, so I'd like to find out if he can get it on. He's at level 92 or something, so as soon as he hits 99 I'll Take him to the Colosseum.

It might be a waste of time to answer all my own questions but I figured other people might want to know too, so...

He should have had the snow muffler when you got him. Are you playing the GBA version? Would that be different?

He does have it but he must have pretty weak D cuz when Mog and Gau have it equipped they only get hit for 1 damage by physical attacks. But Mog and Gau have the benefit of shields, so...

I think I'll change strategies and go for Gogo with a merit award and only give him the fight command. Offering and Atma Weapon maybe? Maybe Genji Glove, Atma and Stunner? I dunno yet.

How about offering, genji glove, atma weapon and illumina? That'll ruin anyone's day!

I was hoping to do it with Merit Award so I could equip the Snow Muffler. But if Gogo was leveled high enough he would hit for enough damage that he wouldn't be attacked more than once. But I also know Illumina's damage is weakened by the Offering and the Atma Weapon is not, so...

What other weapons are not weakened by the Offering?

Yeah. The problem is I want to use Gogo so that I can give him "Fight" as his only command. He can't use Atma though. Celes is around level 92 and can do around 60k damage with the Atma/Illumina/Genji Glove/Offering. I just hate relying on her to attack every time. Too many times casting Haste and Dispel and getting wiped out.

Yeah, I have that problem too, one char. hogging the battle. I usually give Atma to a char. with weaker fighting to give them extra power. I use Sabin's Blitz, give Edgar Atma, and Locke or Terra Illumina.

My bad. I was talking about fighting in the Colosseum specifically. I know what you mean though.
