First, I'd like to say this topic is about gaming but isn't so i didn't know whether to put into gaming chat or just general chat.
I've just been curious about this seeing as people have been doing this for CoD, CoD WaW, and CoD MW 2 for awhile now.

How hard would it be to setup your own online server for a different game with online multiplayer? Most notably for games who have had their online support shut down already. I'm just curious because there are a couple games where i'd love to collect footage of my friends and i messing around on multi together for some videos but the online is gone for them and it only would have been possible if it was still up. Id think if they could do it for CoD then itd be cake for a less complicated multiplayer server.

Note 1: I'm asking about console gaming. I already know its not too hard to do this for computer but we wanted to do this with a couple ps3 games.
Note 2: i'm not looking to use this to cheat or abuse a popular online game. Just curious if anyone knows or could help use this for a game that is very much dead.
