Ampharoas. All I remember is that he can ball up with the three elemental punches and then some. Quagsire was a good water pokemon cause he could learn EQ and had Electric Resistance. Pikachu because he made yellow easy. Oh and then Blaziken and Breloom for their dual fighting ownage in Ruby/Sapphire.
But Ampharoas is still my favorite. |

This is a very tough question for me to answer. My favorite two to use in battle are Bronzong and Slowbro because they are great tanks and never fail to set up Trick Room, which almost always results in victory for me.
Other than them, though, some of my other favorites are Cacturne, Octillery, and of course Shuckle. They are all just so goofy and underrated yet have absolutely amazing potential if they are used correctly. Cacturne I like because he is just a glass cannon and prediction machine. Octillery is a favorite because for some reason he can learn grass, posion, electric, fire, and psychic type moves as a water type. Shuckle is....well....just Shuckle. And he has the potential for the highest attack stat in the game after Power Trick. -------------------- Is PJ |

OMG... NOT obvious response deploying in 3... 2... 1...
**Shakes off Sarcasm** Articuno. Why? Well, in the beginning, the harshest fights in the game were against the E4, which consisted of Ice/Water, Rock/Ground, Ghost/Psychic, Dragon, and the mix with the rival, which was a combo of flying, psychic, fire, water, grass, and... poison (it's foggy, but I think a Nidoking was on that team...) Point is: with the exception of Lorelli, Articuno could almost single-handedly run the rest of the E4 with a massive special stat and an uncommon Ice typing, which always worked to extra benefit against Lance and his dragons. And since I almost always ran with Charizard, that left Gary with a Blastoise, Rapidash(which had no decent fire moves anyways), and some stupid grass like a Vileplume or some sort. Arti wasn't so much a Glass Cannon as an Ice Cannon Also, Ice/Flying in the new era makes for an interesting battle, as the only other contender to appear with that combo is... Delibird... **cough**lame**cough** The new-era usage flaw however, is that his move pool leaves much to be desired. He could run with Aereal Ace and Ice Beam alone, you could play risky and give him roost, or run a Hail/Blizzard combo. The unfortunate "sploit" of poor Articuno, and sadly his most common use, is the fact that he's the only pokemon that naturally learns a next-move-no-miss attack, and a OHKO that can be used in conjunction. leilong, surprisingly, Articuno is UU in Gen 4. Mainly because of its god-awful typing (Stealth Rock will halve its HP when it switches in), and the fact it has a terrible offensive movepool. Then again, it is a tank, and one of the beasts of UU, and considering Roost can minimize its mega rock weakness for a turn, is very usable.
Anyway, onto the question. Favourite Pokemon overall, would have to be Lugia. Silver was the first game I played, and ever since, I've loved Lugia. It was just infinitely awesome, and had one of the coolest looking signature moves in the game. It was kick ass, could take any hit something ealt it, and still deal out OHKO like nobody's business. But they've made Aeroblast look god-awful now, and with my new obsession in the metagame, I don't like using ubers. So, my favourite would have to be Weavile. I really can't put my finger on why: when I first saw it, I thought it looked ridiculous, but its grown on me, and now is just plain awesome. Despite its fragility, it manages to take out 2 or 3 (or 4) Pokemon per battle, and for that alone, it rocks. |

i like weavile i just tend to leave dark pokemon to the side as they really don't have good dark-type moves and most of them can't learn a very big variety though often they have a good mix on stats and can be grown into the best team members.
for instance tyranitar who is my favorite cannot be achieved until lv55 and the best dark move he learns is crunch. so i play to his other strength strong physical attacks and decent defense both physical and special. also i put to use some good rock and ground moves with him. just in case you are wondering her is a list of his moves crunch earthquake stone edge thunderbolt yeah thunderbolt is kinda of an odd move but it helps and is, in my opinion better than thunder as tyranitars sand stream ability makes its accuracy really bad. |

I slightly remember a topic just like this one, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, my favorite of all time would have to be Alakazam. I used him more than any other psychic class. -------------------- "You know that feeling you get when you're on a merry go 'round, and you want to jump off to make the spinning stop, but you know it'll suck when you land? Quote (No-Name @ 13th November 2008 14:02) I slightly remember a topic just like this one, but I could be wrong. You aren't wrong: http://www.cavesofnarshe.com/forums/ipb/in...?showtopic=9889 In that thread I said my favorite pokemon was Eevee, which is different than my response here, but both are correct. The Eeveelutions are my favorite group of pokemon, Vaporeon is my favorite Eeveelution, and Snorlax is, well, just another old favorite. And for kicks: my original Blue team was Venusaur, Vaporeon, Dugtrio, Zapdos, Arcanine, and Snorlax. My original Gold team was Vaporeon, Espeon, Jolteon, Snorlax, Tyranitar, Heracross. The current team I use the most in Diamond is Vaporeon, Jolteon, Snorlax, Salamence, Tyranitar, Lucario. Notice a pattern with the Vaporeon and Snorlax, hm? -------------------- |

Ha ha, the only Pokemon game that I've never started over is my Yellow version, so I have no clue what my original teams were.
Anyway, I don't have a particular favourite, but I do have favourite groups. Dragons. Even ones that aren't dragon-type but are still dragons, like Charizard. Most fire-types, as well. Oh, and I like Metagross too. Kind of random, but I loooove it! From each gen, my favourites are (these are not what I use against the E4 or anything, just ones I like): 1st gen: Charmander 2nd gen: Houndoom 3rd gen: Metagross 4th gen: Lucario It kind of shifts from fire to steel there, doesn't it? -------------------- Why, hello guys! Way back in the day when I actually played the game (crystal was the last one I think), I do remember having my all-time favorite pkmn ever... Raichu... AND he had a really good setup
He was L: 100 and his moves were: Thunder (8/8) (yes, I maxed them all) Thunderbolt (21/21) (If I remember correctly) Mega Punch (16/16) (again, if i remember correctly) Rain Dance (8/8) (Never underestimate the power of a never miss thunder attack) So I would have to say, Raichu was my favorite... but after they got over the 251, I kinda lost track and gave up on it... That doesn't make me bad does it? Edit I also had all the eeveelutions in one of my games, I think silver... which was fun except none of them are flying type... I don't remember my Blue team, but I remember my Silver team: Meganium, Ampharos, Sneasel, Tyranitar, Snorlax, Houndoom.
That being said, my favorite pokemon of all time is Meganium. |
