If you know anything about Final Fantasy, you will know that undead enemies are damaged by healing items and spells right?
When you get the chance, with either Locke or Cyan, use a Fenix Down on the Ghost Train and it dies instantly. Easy and Simple. -------------------- Music. defines. society. |

What's the fun in that? I like to actually battle monsters and bosses. Also, I like to conserve Phoenix Downs.
Also, Locke does not fight the Phantom Train. That would be Sabin and Cyan. -------------------- "My name is Atma...I am a power both ancient and unrivaled... I do not bleed, for I am but strength given form...Feeble creatures of flesh...Your time is nigh!" |

If you're lucky, you'll also have Shadow for that battle. If you don't waste time he'll be with you until you reach the falls.
And honestly, I don't think this is a very good idea. Phoenix Downs are usually hard to come by that early in any FF game, and the train isn't a difficult boss. Just save your item. And using life items on undead enemies isn't exactly an exciting new idea, either. -------------------- |

I didn't think Phoenix Downs worked - thought it had to be Revivifies.

1) Duh. I think by NOW everyone knows that Phoenix Downs kill undead instantly.
2) It's no fun, and a waste of a good Down on a weak boss. 3) Unless you're spending hours to rack up money, you won't have alot of Downs at that point, and will more than likely need them during the Narshe 3-party battle. 4) Just wanted to see if you'd read this one just because it had a number in front of it, too. lol -------------------- "I've got nothing to lose but my life, and I got that for free." - Setzer, FFVI (PSX Remake) |

Phoenix Down or not, Ghost Train is REALLY kind of gentle to be considered a tough enemy, so, 5 attacks or a phoenix down don't matter, i fought something harder in the game.

...I thought everyone knew that by now. Old game, old trick.
And as for the people who are like "not enuf Fenix Downs lol" opr whatever, that's totally not true. I usually have around five FenixDowns by that point, and it's just quicker and easier to use one than waste time battling the thing. And I have never ever used a FenixDown before Zozo in FFIV. Ever. I just never need them before then. I f a character dies during the Narshe battle (rarely happens), I reset. |

As easy as it is to do this, I prefer doing it the old fashioned way. I guess that you could say that I am wierd like that.

Hey guess what! REASON NO. 1 NOT TO USE A PHOENIX DOWN ON THE PHANTOM TRAIN: when you use phoenix downs on the ghost train you don't get the experience...

Because the people within the party do not die, they are wounded. Phoenix Down heals wounded people. it doesn't bring people back to life. -------------------- |
