What does anyone think about the idea of an action rpg based off of FFT. I know its a contradiction, but I think having an action RPG playing as Delita would be awesome. It could either take place during the War of the Lions, or it could be after it. I think it would be better if it took place during the War since he already became a King at the end. What does everyone think? Call it "The Delita Chronicles". I also expect to get ripped to part over this idea, but just curious what other people think. Also, feel free to share your ideas as well.

Or they could, instead of having you choose options from menus to move and attack with characters, have you directly control the character as if playing a 3D game.

Going with this idea, I think a tradiitonal hack-and-slash 3D RPG would be the way to go with a wide selection of different characters/jobs to choose from.

I'm not so sure how I feel on this one. I'm generally open to new things, even when no one else is, but I don't know about this. I have to say, the makers would have to stay tight with the original story to make it good, because if you take out the kind of elements you are talking about, it isn't the same at all anymore. You would need to stay damn close to the story to make it worth playing, I think.

yea. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of kingdom hearts and crisis core pertaining to 3D gameplay. What do you think about having the main character as Delita that takes place during the lion war? Basically, showing his rise to power.

I'm not a fan of Delita, and I don't really want to play as him. An FFT action rpg is an interesting idea though.

Spin-offs: FFIV: Interlude & The After Years, Crisis Core: FFVII, X-2, XIII-2, Lightning Returns, Type-0 HD, Dissidia, Dissidia 012, and Tactics (original & WotL).
Enjoyed them all.

A hack & slash or action rpg with the option to change class would be incredible. This idea is interesting, especially with delita as the title character.

Chances are this will never happen, but i can hope:)

I have to agree with this. I think Delita kind of lacked in character/personality. In general, to me, it was the characters associated with Delita that made the story, and although I wouldn't simply toss him out, I think it would be a task to make a story based mainly around him and make it worth following.

i think it would be great to make a prelude during the 50 year war, they can expand much on all the characters you dont really learn much about, i think it would add to the original as well depending on how the game was produced...i like the idea of playing as delita thought too

I'd really be stoked to play an action rpg version of Final Fantasy Tactics.

But having to control a team of 4-5 characters, I really wouldn't like to just control Ramza and have everybody else do AI. I'm also not that good with switching characters controls around on games like Kingdom Hearts. I also prefer to use all of my characters my own way, and not the game's.

Plus, giving the game too much freedom to roam around to slash enemies just doesn't sound too much like "Final Fantasy Tactics" to me.

FFT as a game alone is excellent enough for me, no need to make spinoffs or prequels/sequels of it.

I'm not sure about the 3D battle system on Tactics, but one thing I would love to see is a MMORPG focused around the world of the original Tactics game. I could just image choosing my main job class and secondary job class and going through the story of Final Fantasy Tactics in that format.
