Yes, I do need to know this. In my comic, I've reached the part where Locke receives help from the moogles in defending Terra. Are they knee high? Waist high?
I seem to recall the FF3 Nintendo Power strategy guide listing Mog as being 4 feet tall. That seems kinda large to me. Do other FF games make mention of this? Any help or references you can direct me to would be appreciated. Thanks, guys! -------------------- |

If you think 4 feet is too tall, go for 3 feet. That's a yardstick's length, and after comparing one to the height of myself, I'm inclined to agree with you that 4 feet is rather tall for a moogle.
I can't wait to see them, but I think it'd be more in character if the moogles used non-lethal tactics on the guards. I read that in a fanfic FFVI novelization, and it seemed perfect for the story. How come you took down the drawings of Arvis kicking out Locke and Locke entering the caves? The latest page has been up as the newest for a while now. |

Do other FF games make mention of this? http://www.rpgdl.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t...der=asc&start=0 Here is a thread where somebody translated (I think) basic character information from FF IV, V, and VI. Scroll down some more (to get to the VI characters) and it will say that Mog is 122 centimeters tall, which is four feet. That is too large for my own tastes (as they've been portrayed in the other games as short and fluffy). It doesn't seem right, so I would keep him to three feet as Frozen_Aura said. -------------------- |

Four feet seems a little largish to me as well. Most fan art that I've seen usually has him smaller although not quite as tiny as those moogles in FF12 which seem to be around a foot and a half.

I think that they're adding the antenna and the ball on top of his head. If I were you, I would say they are 3 feet tall with a 1 foot tall antenna on their head.

Okay, three feet it is, then. That sounds about right to me.
@ Harlequin: I took a look at that thread. Thanks for the link. Though I wonder why the game makers would go into so much detail about their characters. Is it really necessary to list Locke's habit as "taking naps in fields"? Maybe the guy in the forum was making it all up. (shrug) -------------------- |

I've seen some Japanese fanart that goes along with those pieces of information (I've seen drawings of Locke being freaked out by mushrooms, Celes reading books, and Relm with pancakes), but I can see you're point of view. I've never questioned it myself, seeing as being a fanfic writer for FFVI, it gives me a lot of little realistic things to put in my work. -------------------- |

That is true. Maybe I'll put some of those details in my comic, too. Just for fun.

Sorry, I'm unsure of their exact height or any reference material that could help so I can't really help you. Still I think the following question has some relevance to this topic:
Are we talking about the height including the antenna or excluding it? I'm asking mostly because if we're expecting measurement from the bottom of the feet to the top of the head and the official material reference includes the antenna, then the official number may very well seem too tall for us. Visa versa if otherwise. Edit *rereads the topic*.... How did I miss that? This post has been edited by Tonepoet on 8th March 2008 15:14 -------------------- |

I was thinking about the moogle's height excluding the bobble-antenna. For now, I think I'll count them as being 2 or 3 feet tall, plus a few more inches with antenna.
I drew this sketchy little height chart to help me work out everyone's relative heights and body types. You can see it here: link. -------------------- |

I always thought moogles were these cute tiny little things you could stick on your shoulder @_@ Lol, never knew how tall they really are.

Well, when I was playing through FF6, I did imagine them as being bigger than the normal moogle midgets, I imagined them about chest high i think, about 4'6", not including antennae (which I imagined short for FF6 anyway) I know its not very cutesy, or fuzzy, or usual Moogleness, but imho, Mog, and all the other moogles in that scene, were all....grittier, wierd way to put it, but...
A. their sprites were just as big B. they fought with spears, swords, shields, and other weapons C. I like imagining all the FFs having differences, thus I like believing that all the moogles are different from each other, chocobos too -------------------- "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter, don't mind." -Dr. Seuss |

I think they should be a little bigger than 3 ft. because they use spears. I wouldn't make them higher than 4 ft. However, you could have some variation. Make most of them 3 ft. and a few of them 4 ft. -------------------- |

As far as I know "10/18" is October 18th, and the name of the place where Terra was born was never released as canonical information. It's just referred to as the "Esper World" or "Land of Espers". Stop! Locke's birthday on the 14th of March?! It seems like you surf Japanese fanart sites too, and his birthday is usually "celebrated" by the people in November. I've never seen an American information guide, so the stuff in that could be a bit different. I take no offense. This post has been edited by Harlequin on 16th July 2008 04:24 -------------------- |

Well...They got Terra's birthday right, i just listed the rest, and kept the other stuff in too.
They got a lot wrong on Terra(But her birthday was right.), so i put her full bio on. As for Locke. This is what they listed. The second one is the right one, for America and Japan. Their site- -- Lock=Cole 25 175cm 67kg 11/24 Otype Like: map Hate: mushroom habit: taking a nap in the field treasure: badana -------------------------------------------------------------------- Good site.- -- Locke Cole March 14 KohlingeN Treasure -Phoenix Magicite Loves -Adventure/Maps Hates -Good Byes/Mushrooms Hobby -Treasure Hunt/Travelling the Wastelands Do you not see the difference? And another thing about Locke..I noticed that he was kind of like Jones... Heres the reasons.
The hat thing and Locke's Bandanna. Like when people call Jones a tomb raider and he says he is a professor- And for Locke, the thief thing. I noticed this a couple of months ago and thought it was cool. This post has been edited by EdgarAndTerraFigaro on 20th July 2008 04:17 -------------------- Isn't it soooo Cute!? It's not very polite to post something in a foreign language, then ask for people to decipher it. It almost sounds like you're gloating about your knowledge of Greek.
That being said, I think it's very interesting to learn about the personal stats of our characters, though ultimately it isn't too important. And on another note, I wonder why Square thought Locke was a fan of mushrooms? It certainly doesn't come out in the game. -------------------- |

Different games, different Moogles, meaning different sizes. The Moogles on FFV looked a little taller than the ones on FFVI.
