Could someone please tell me, how to get the Golden chocobo.

I have found some guides in the interwebs, but none of them have worked. :'/
So I would be really grateful if someone could tell how to get one.

The real problem with me is that I can't get blue or green chocobos.
I really would want to get Knights of the Round, and Mime.
I got Quadra Magic by doing small bug. I went to the grass near the Quadra Magic cave, pressed X to land and fast pressed square and forward, Highwind stayed at the Grass and I came out to the sand. ^^

I know that one way is to kill Ruby Weapon but I just can't win it. It's too evil for me.

IF you want KOTR just beat emerlad weapon!

I know that I get one beating the ruby..
But it is tough to beat without the Knights of The Round, besides, I want to win races with it. The chocobo you get from Ruby ain't as good as the one is that you breed.

The guide here at CoN works perfectly, as it was my sole source when i bred a gold chocobo. if you do exactly what it says, and DONT GET YOUR CHOCOBO'S MIXED UP, then you should be ok. the first time i tried, i accidentially mated the wrong two chocobos, which took quite a while to fix. i would advise naming the chocobos based on their gender and type, ie GoodFem. it does take some pacience however.

EDIT: Almost half done now, got Male Great, and Female Good chocobos. Male is B rank and just about to start running with Female.. But.. How can it be that Female chocobos are always better ? Atleast every Female that I've had is faster than the Males. But well, this female has 8 more speed but 100 less stamina.

EDIT Once Again: Sigh.. I've got now green male chocobo, I'm now trying to do female blue, well.. I have done this now 4 times, first one was male blue, second green, third green, fourth blue male.. Well.. Gotta try again..

Uh oh, I've got a problem.

It says "You shouldn't mate those that just mated or those that were just born."
when I am trying to mate class A blue female and class A green male.
It's annoying :/

That's not a problem, you just can't do it. Go do something else for a while in the game.

Yay, now I almost have the Gold Chocobo, I got Black on S rank and almost A rank with the Wonderful.
Yay I'm happy. ^^



EDIT: I just got the Golden Chocobo! Thank you everyone, biggest thanks goes for Death Penalty because he told me about the guide.

EDIT Again: This Golden Chocobo is AWESOME! It runs daaaammn fast
149 is the speed, anyone have faster ?

Hah, this is where my name goes right?

First you mate the Good chocobo (found in gold saucer area) and the great chocobo. (found in Mideel area) Feed them the Carob Nut (Stolen from Vlakorados which is a monster in the Bone village jungle) Do that until you have two chocobos one green one blue one male one female (obviously). Mate the two together with the Carob Nut and you get the Black Chocobo. Mate that chocobo with a wonderful chocobo (found in Icicle Inn area). Feed them the Zeio Nut (Found on goblin Island you steal them from goblins) BOOM GOLD CHOCOBO

I thought you said ruby and emerald were easy >_>

It is when you are 99 and have the materias, but when you're around 60 and you don't have anything good it really is hard.

In a general sense though, Ruby and Emerald are very very tough. Of course if you max out all your stats and materia, they will be easy. But through a normal play through not so easy.

i was jus playing an old file with bunch of yellow chocobos in the stable. afaik, they are bunch of good/great ones with one A class. (but it's been a whlie that I don't know which one is which >_> )
I mated that A class male with a C class female (untrained,unfed) twice and got green and blue of opposite sexes.

Is this unusual?

Not to go off topic but I might add that time spells like "stop" do work on Ruby.. you can use the W-Summons and cast Hades and then whatever else you want until he is dead. Hades will cause the stop effect on him and he will not be able to hit you if you continue to mime the Hades+whatever combo.
