George Carlin dies at 71 years
He was one of the greatest comedians of all time, entertaining people for decades with his stand-up and having entertaining appearances in the popular films Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Dogma, Cars, and others. RIP, George Carlin. EDIT: My favorite Carlin bit. It actually has zero profanity; my dad actually told me the same joke when I was younger, and I didn't know it was classic Carlin until the advent of YouTube. I was quite sad to hear about George Carlin's death as well. My father used to have a number of his records (vinyl, kids) and me and my friends (back in the early 80's) would listen to them in headphones late at night, while my parents were sleeping.
Thanks to him for expanding my vocabulary for the worse, as some would see it , and my religious and political views for the better. He truly inherited the comic-philosopher mantle from Lenny Bruce. He will be missed. -------------------- "You broke my f***ing sitar, mother f***er." -Anton A. Carlin was easily one of my favorite comedians, by far one of the most profane and hilarious ones I can remember and let's not forget, the guy was Mr. Conductor!
It's a shame that he had to pass on, but he had a long, long life and he's said it himself numerous times, he's been ready to kick the bucket for a while, so let's just hope at least one of his crazy philosophies about the afterlife was right. He'll definitely always be remembered. -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

He truly was an American icon and one of the greatest comedians who ever lived. I was first introduced to Carlin as 'Mr. Conductor' on a children's TV series with trains that had faces on them narrated by this man after Ringo Starr. I was a kid, then, and I later found he was a comic legend and I'll never forget him as 'Rufus" in the Bill & Ted movies.
The world will miss George Carlin, no doubt about it. R.I.P. -------------------- "Thought I was dead, eh? Not until I fulfill my dream!" Seifer Almasy "The most important part of the story is the ending." Secret Window "Peace is but a shadow of death." Kuja |

When I was young, he showed me a new way to think....
He wasn't just an entertainer, he was a teacher. He taught us that you don't need to fear, you don't need convention, or things, you just need each other, to be yourself, to have a voice.... enjoy your life and don't sweat it all... Miss ya big time, George. You won't be forgotten. |

The difference between cats and dogs, 3 questions at airport security, there were just too many skits by Carlin that had be gripping my sides. Carlin Inspired so many comedians that no one will be able to go about in the business without giving some credit to him.

He's one of those guys that you'd expect just to keep going and going forever. I remember I first heard about him when a friend of mine bought a daily calendar, where each page would have a witty joke of some sort. Every day (usually during class) we would read that day's joke and several of our favorite previous jokes. Eventually, we just cheated the system and read the entire calendar at once... After that calendar I sought more of his funny-ness. He was a really funny guy.
