Which of the 14 playable characters, in your opinion, is the funniest?

THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE NPCS. Otherwise, it's obvious who would get the most votes (Kefka.....duh).

Most of the characters have at least one moment where they're a little funny.

Terra doesn't really have any moments, though...nor do Umaro or Gogo, really...

I think it might be a cross between Edgar and Sabin...I'm leaning more towards Sabin.

Although, Gau has some funny moments, too (whenever he's actually in a scene where he does something). I especially liked:

When you first recruit him, with his "Mr. Thou" and when he fights with Sabin.

Also, at the very end, when they're escaping from Kefka's Tower, and he tells Edgar and Celes to "take shortcut" and jumps down the mountain (or whatever it is), then pushes Celes down the next one.

Even Shadow has a couple kinda amusing lines, most notably:

On the boat in Albrook, before you leave for Thamasa, when, if you talk to him, he says, "I'm working for the Empire now. But don't worry, they didn't hire me to kill you."

And at the end of the Floating Continent, if you wait for him, when he says, "I'd never be able to rest in peace if I died without collecting my pay."

Relm also has a bit of...funniness, as does Strago.

And even the serious Cyan has some funny moments...it's probably his seriousness and how he doesn't understand technology that makes him funny, like:

When he gets in the Magitek armour and doesn't know how to work it, first going in reverse, then rampaging through the Imperial camp, running over the soliders.

And at the end, when they're escaping Kefka's Tower, and he doesn't know how to activate a switch.

I may not have needed all the spoiler coverings, but...just to be safe.

I think Kefka is.

She's helping out the emporer and he doesn't even know that Kefka secretly hates him still. Then Kefka gives a sword to celes to stab other characters, and instead Celes stabs Kefka.

And she is the least morbid villian out there. What kind of villian looks like a robed clown?

I feel I've gotta correct you, you keep refering to Kefka as "she" when he's quite definitely a male.

At any rate, funniest character? Gau, easily. The "Shiny Shiny Shiny" bit had be laughing quite a bit, or a certain scene where they try to dress him up...pretty ridiculous, I think.

I disagree. I'm pretty sure it is a female. I think this because it not only fights like a girl, but it starts all the drama in the game. It also backstabs alot and has an annoying high pitched laugh.

ANywho...Sorry I didn't read the entire post. I think strago is the funniest, have you seen his picture?

Id probably say Gau because of the Mr Thou and also the Shiny Helmet mostly and, that you need to feed him in order to join your party.

Most clowns i know have a high pitched laugh or voice and also because hes referred as a he somewhere in Figaro Castle or either Doma in like the beginning of the game i remember.

I see your point...but it's kinda hard to believe that when Kefka is referred to as a "he" throughout the entire game.

Anyway...what about Edgar? He has some amazingly funny lines, especially when he meets Terra, but my favorite is, "If I were to die, all the world's women will grieve!"

Edgar's really funny. I especially like his "Being a king's not all tea and crumpets," line.

Anyway, I don't think Kefka is a she. After all, they refer to...him, I guess, as a god, not a goddess.

I really think Gau was funniest.

The problem with the whole "Cefca is a girl" thing is when you look at the Playstation release of the game you can see Cefca in the introduction. Sorry, but Cefca looked like a guy, or a REALLY ugly-painted girl.
I think Edgar is one of the funniest characters. He always seems to like hitting on Tina and all the other women in the game *Cough*Relm*Cough*
