The mediators are important, raising and lowering both brave and faith. They're fun to use, too! It's annoying how rarely some of their skills work, though. Is there any way to increase the chance of success? What is it based on?

It's based on a set number for each skill, plus your MA. The rest is just Zodiac Compatibilty.

Stuff like Negotiate, Threaten and Solution have very high (like 80%) base, while Invite has very low (like 20%.)

To get the most outta Talk Skill, have good compabatiblity, then high MA. Since the Mediator has crummy stats and equipment, you may find more use out of Talk Skill in another class, like Wizard or other mages. (However, you'll lack Monster Talk, which allows you to talk to monsters. It's innate on Mediators.)

Thanks for the help. It is indeed based on majic attack, and adding a bunch of items that add MA helped quite a bit!

Playing it on an emulator, i go the easy way and use luck manipulation, because i simply can't be bothered wasting time trying to talkskill monsters into joining over and over.
