Okay, so we all know FF6 has some truly spectacular music. But if we put it to the music of today, or even to the music of a couple of decades ago or further, what would it sound like...? Suggest your ideas!
The songs can be themes of characters, towns, concepts, certain scenes, or even interactions. (A song that fits Edgar and Sabin, a song that fits Locke and Celes.) Just don't bash on anybody's music tastes, please. D: What you think suits best will depend heavily on that. Any genre goes, even unpopular ones. Everybody likes different stuff. Some of mine: Locke: Blame it on Bad Luck, by Bayside. Not all the lyrics fit him, but I do tend to think of him as having terrible luck generally, and good luck only when he's in a pinch. I don't think that's quite canon, but I know he probably doesn't lead a life of luxury...actually more like a hard-knock life. Eh, that's mostly opinion. Shadow: Dead or Alive, by Bon Jovi. Why? Because it talks about somebody on the run, life and death...I think it fits him really well. XD Love song for Locke/Celes (even though I don't particularly like that pairing): Last Day on Earth, by Delta Goodrem. A little mellowdramatic, like they are, and talks about the end of the world...which is a big theme of FFVI. Zozo: Welcome to the Jungle, by Guns N' Roses. I mean, come on. XD It's too good. Locke/Rachel song: All Around Me, by Flyleaf. Soapbox warning, here - I hear so much controversy online about songs sucking because they're about God. But if you didn't know they were until somebody told you, then the lyrics can easily be seen as something else, right? Honesty I don't know what the hell this song is about, but the lyrics in the chorus ("I can feel you all around me/Thickening the air I'm breathing/Holding onto what I'm feeling/Savoring this heart that's healing") seem to fit them very well - Rachel being with Locke by giving her lifeforce to the Phoenix Esper and trying to heal his heart. General Theme: Meant to Live, by Switchfoot. It reminds me of hope in the WoR. ("We want more than this world has to offer" and "We were meant to live for so much more" really made me think of it.) Kefka: Getting Away With Murder, by Papa Roach. Well, I mean...duh. XD Terra, Locke/Terra: I'm Not That Girl, from the musical Wicked. Maybe this one is a little far-fetched, but if Terra liked Locke and Locke liked Celes... XD Okay, okay, I'm done. Enough sifting through my mp3s. What do you all think? -------------------- The opera was only performed in English ONCE. T_T Hey, FF artists! You might want to check this challenge out! WEBSITE <3 |

I can definitely see a "Set the Fire to the Third Bar" by Snow Patrol being a Locke/Celes song, specifically during their separation in the WoR. It's about being isolated and alone.
Jokingly, I think a good song for Gogo would be "I think I'm Go Go" Squeeze. It fits, being abstract. "The Knife" by Genesis could be a good theme for Banon, as it is talking about fighting for freedom. Another great Genesis tune would be "Snowbound", which fits Umaro very well. There's maybe one or two others, but I'd rather keep it to stuff people know. -------------------- |

I was recently listening to a piece of music by the Chinese singer Michael Wong named "Tong Hua" or Fairy tales. I think this is a perfect song for Celes/Lock or Tina/Edgar
(I use the Japanese names for the characters in Final Fantasy VI. Sorry if it confuses you!) -------------------- .¸•´¨¯¨*°•.,¸¸,•´¦♥¦`•,¸¸,.•°*¨¯¨´•¸. Magic ceased to exist When Espers left this world They forgot me, The Phantom Pas De Deux Esper .¸•´¨¯¨°•.,¸¸,•´.¦♥¦.¸•´¨¯¨°•.,¸¸,•´ |
