I got out my FF6 GBA cartridge the other day and tried the new bonus dungeon. The dragons were moderately hard (especially the ice dragon) but i couldn't get past the earth dragon. He's friggin impossible! Every time i cast float he counters with 50gs and then uses 2 ground moves that hurt over 4000! I tried beating him a thousand times but nothing seems to work

Have you tried casing float on your party?

Like Rangers said, if you haven't tried casting float oin your own party do so, float gives you immunity to Quake and other Earth moves

Doesn't Gaia Gear absorb earth elemental attacks? Might want to try that, even if it DOES lower your defense a little bit.

Thx caesar, that may b the best advice since whenever i cast float the dragon always uses 50gs (which cancels float). Any other advice will still b useful since i might not have gaia gear so please keep posting!

They cast Float on the wearer. |

Thank you for all your advice because I tried beating him yesterday and the angel wings worked! (Halleluiah!) Problem is once you get him down to low hit points he becomes enraged and attacks about 5 times in a row with super strong physical attacks.

Yea, I wish too because I tried to beat the Earth Dragon again today and I even made sure to use Reraise in case of emergency. Well the emergency happened and after being revived they were just put out of their misery before they could even fill 1/4 of their turn bar. Man this boss is really starting to tick me off!

If so, you could use Ultima, then Quick (if you have it), then more Ultimas. |

Yea, I think I'll use the Soul of Thamasa relic. It would be worth a try since everything else I tried has failed. About leveling up my characters that would have to be last resort because I don't want to leave the dungeona and go through it again. (Also I'm not really sure how to get out... since you drop in by airship
![]() ...I BEAT IT!!!! I was lucky as hell. Shadow saved my misery of going through that battle again. Okay so I was fighting the dragon as usual and equipped Locke and Relm with Angel Wings (they know Ultima) and I equipped Shadow with Prayer Beads just for fun. I was able to cast Ultima twice and Quick on myself before the dragon attacked with the ground moves. Unfortunately, shadow and Strago died, darn. So I did what you told me and equipped Locke with the Soul of Thamasa. I then used Arise on Shadow and Ultima for damage. The Dragon used the two ground moves again and Shadow dodged them. I then kept pounding the dragon with Ultima and Shadow throwing things. Suddenly the dragon attacked me with something called Savage and hurt 9999 to Locke and 8142 to Relm... Shadow was the last alive. By this time I had practically crapped my pants with anxiety. I had Shadow use is throw command but right before I could use it the dragon became ENRAGED. He attacked Shadow but somehow Shadow blocked it with his sword and interceptor came in and ravaged the dragon for the last blow. That is my whole story of the luckiest battle in my life. Yay, congratulations! ![]() No need to say it now, but you could level up just by walking around the dungeon and beating the enemies. And you could leave by using a Teleport Stone or casting the spell Teleport. But it doesn't matter now. Good job! ![]() |

Cast Wall on your party. It lowers magic damage.
I also recomend someone who can attack w/ physical damage of 9999 My preference is a Locke w/ 99+ vigor and illumina/omega weapon Have someone in the party w/ osmose and just use your mp on bossed before hand. If you have 999 mp and u used 997 you can absorb up to 997 mp, and that'll take care of half of his mp, if not more. Use the Gem Box linked w/ the half mp relic and wail Ultima, and Meteor on him. Again, if you run out of mp, use osmose. This works on just about all bosses... |

Yes, thanks for the advice but the problem is that wall does nothing about physical attacks that hurt 9999, this boss has over 9000 mp, and meteor is crap compared to Ultima. I had all these ideas and the one that worked for me was luck. Thanks for the help anyway.

It's okay. Now that I defeated the Earth Dragon I need help with the Fire Dragon. So if you have any more advice keep posting. Just from the first time I faced him he seemed impossible. It says in the beginning of the battle he sacrifices his life to become stronger. Whenever I attacked him I hurt 0 damage. What the heck do I do in this situation?

The idea is to survive. He dies on his own after a while. As his final attack, he casts Ultima, followed by Flare, so be ready for that.

It may be impossible to do, depending on your equipment, but have you tried an all-jump party? I like using my best characters all equipped with dragon boots and dragon horns and laying out a quick haste2 so everybody spends all their time in the air, until they drop 2-4 times (or add an extra spell effect, depending on the weapon); by the time they land and their bar refills, the next jumper should be attacking/falling out of the sky, and as soon as the first character's time gauge is full, you initiate jump instantly (gets priority over other attacks). this means your enemy will be attacking when nobody is on the ground, while your repeat jumps (and magic attacks+) will constantly hammer him to death. Try using palidor to get it started, if you like. I think Mog has some kinda natural bonus to jumping, though, I always use him as a jumper, like the whole game. Maybe it's because of his little wings.
![]() Aside from the jump party, do you have a atma weapon, illumina, phantom ring/offering, genji glove setup with anyone? You can pull this off with Terra, Celes, Edgar, or Locke, whoever has the highest level and vigor- they attack 8 times for 9999. Try casting quick, then attack 16 times for 9999 damage! That's 159,984 HP of damage in one attack! Instant death! ![]() |

Valor only works for the first attack and I beat the Fire Dragon. It turns out all you had to do was survive until his life force ran out, lol. I tried some combos that I knew would to 9999 and they didn't work so I knew it had to be some sort of trick. Thx anyway, now I'm off to defeat Kaizer!
