Are you asking us if we like dancers for their usefulness in the game? Or are you asking us if we are physically attracted to a video game sprite? Big difference.
As far as usefulness within the game I would give them a 5/10...10 being Ninja with Martial Arts and Punch-Art and 1 would be something of a Uribo-level usefulness. I have no feelings outside of those aesthetic for sprites. -------------------- "You broke my f***ing sitar, mother f***er." -Anton A. About as "pretty" as you can get in FFT is Celia Lede, which isn't saying much.
The class itself blows, in my opinion. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

Dancers are okay. Nameless Dance served me long into the game - it's useful and amusing to put your Dancer somewhere inaccessible and have her nuke the board with status effects. I especially like that *boing/splat* noise it makes when it hits an enemy. What I don't like is when it reverses a status like Frog.
Wiznaibus is decent also, but doesn't do enough damage for my tastes. Solid class overall, but I don't like that "Dance" has such a charge time and lasts throughout the battle. I think it would be better if it worked more like "Charge" for example. The class itself is horrible. If I weren't obsessed with mastering every class with every character, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

Well I think dancers are suited for battles were there are lots of enemies... you know that rare encounter with 12 dragon, hidras, behemots, chocobos, monks.. etc..
Dancers had only one good ability for me and it only is of use if there is a bard along... slow dance and cheer song together makes the trick. is there a way to increase their succes rate?? |

Yes but only because they can be cheap in one way. this also aplies to the bard also. have the dancers use Wiznaibus (one that damages) and have the bards sing the the nameless song. have them all equiped with Sunken State and when they get attacked they'll go invisible, now just put them on auto battle to run like a rabbit. since charging dance and sing doesnt count as action, they'll stay invisible, and auto battle makes sure they dont act. this is cheap since if you give them gain jp up, they just earn jp very fast. I like to use this to master class faster. simply leave the game and do sonthing else while your waiting.

As beautiful as a game sprite can be... yup, dancers are good, and for people who think aesthetics are not important, think of a game with everyone being a gray-colored pixel. Not appealing, is it? (besides, the idea of someone dancing mid-battle while everyone else's fighting ish pretty interesting =3)

To me, Every class appears in Final Fantasy Tactics is essential. Without one class, another class cannot exist or stay on a battlefield. Even a Thief, even a Mediator, to me is useful. The most important thing is to know how the hell you have to use those classes, and which other classes you have to combine them.

In a long battle: one dancer in a corner equals slow but effective victory.

Well... I like dances, but not so much dancers.
Leveling up as a dancer is unhealthy for your character, but A Save is great for Agrias and others, and dancing and singing are great (easy) ways to level up mimes. Also, Wiznaibus is devastating in the early game, while speeds and HPs are low, but barely improves as the game goes on. Wiznaibus/Battle Song/Mime/Mime will eat away at any group of enemies. Lavitz: There's no way to improve success%, it's stuck at 50%(34% for last dance). But, a high brave or extra PA or AttackUP will improve Witch Hunt and Wiznaibus. Also, I wish you could get "Equip Carpet". I just like strange weapons, like Crono's "Mop"(steal from Nu). -------------------- "Until we make the unconscious conscious, it will control our life and we will call it fate." - Carl Jung |
