so i just got the grav gun, and i have a question. am i the only person that is genuinely scared by this game. these zombies keep popping up everywhere, people are charred and on electrical fences, and its dark. this is one messed up level.

I would have to assume you're either at or just past Ravenholm, then? It's so deliciously creepy, but is absolutely one of the best, if not the single best, part of that game.

I really enjoyed that part of the game. Low ammunition always forces me to utilise the gravity gun, and really makes the level feel desperate.
Something as simple as Alyx saying "We don't go to Ravenholme." is just enough to introduce it. It's what she doesn't say that is interesting. Then, in typical Valve style, the level takes its name from her words. "Forget about Freeman" is still better though. Speaking of which, Gears of War tried going along that route for their level names. Can't remember any, I just remember thinking they were crap! -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |
