So, what are your all-time favorite online games, and which ones are you playing right now? What's your username, what service do you use and what server do you play on (if applicable)?
My favorites: Descent (rip) Descent 2 (rip) Warcraft 2 (I stopped playing - is this game still played?) Warcraft 3: RoC & TFT (current) Currently playing: Warcraft 3: TFT (username: i90east) (service: battle.net) (server: Azeroth) I don't play many different games online because I prefer focusing on one game to really get good at it. Online games are extremely competitive so it takes a lot of work to avoid being called a noob. ![]() -------------------- FFXI (Siren server) Tauu the Windurstian Tarutaru! White Mage & Paladin |

I play some StarCraft and some AgeofEmpires2:TC.
Username for both is MoogleGenocide(_) the underscore is for my AOE account. On my battlenet I don't have that. I played some WCIII on Battlenet, and look forward to playing some more once I can get my hands on another copy of the game. That game had some awesome Tower Defense maps. When I look at starcraft I see a game that can be won in a heartbeat with the right strategy against an unskilled player. AOEII is the same way on some occasions, but oftentimes it equalizes it out more by having more common units amongst civilizations. In AOEII i've seen seiges last for hours, whereas in SC I've seldom played games that have lasted more than an hour inthemselves. I partially blame this on lack of walls which AOEII has, and lack of powerful stationary attackers like castles, which can repel moderate amounts of men just by firing arrows. Diablo and it's sequels are the only online games I've played, but I haven't played in a almost a year. I may shop around for more.

My favorite onlline games have been Dark Ages (not Dark Ages of Camelot, this is different) and Final Fantasy XI. On FFXI I play on the Siren server but I think my characters have been deleted because it's been more than 3 months since the last time I renewed.

IRC trivia bots, and good flash games (which isn't most of them). Seriously.
I don't actually play any of the online games people think of. I have a number of friends who are into Halo, Counterstrike, Unreal Tournament, Half-Life, FFXI, etc. etc. etc., but I've never gotten into the online gaming arena. Partially because I still find older games fun, partially because I find other games more fun, partially because they would eat time even faster than the games I play now (and I already have problems with time management), partly because most of them contain a level of complexity which would require even more time, partly because a number of them have a cost per unit time to play (and I would rather be faithful to my gaming companions, if I were to play, than to just stop paying money and disappear suddenly). Also, I've never been a fan of first-person shooters, which a number of them are. (I REFUSE to play Counter-Strike because it's based completely in violence (in the sense that the more spectacular the kill, the more people will respect your skill at the game) and because I had to sleep to Counter-Strike explosion noises during Campus Preview Weekend before I came to college.) Diablo II is about the only the game I play online. Although, it couldn't a be a more corrupt game to play. 99.9% of the people playing that game don't play the game legitly which makes it beyond annoying to play. If you're not a godly player, you'll get flamed and harrassed.

All I really play is FFXI. I'm on the Phoenix server, I play a TaruTaru Black Mage named Arrowny, though I don't play that much. I also recently downloaded the beta version of ROSE Online, an MMORPG from the Ragnarok Online folk. S'okay.

I played c&c generals. It was fun but I rarely play, so get beaten easily most of the time by everyone who plays so much more. It's impossible to find people who don't play the game much.
I played Doom3 online. It was a good laugh but with maximum of 4 players, it got boring after a month or two. I'm playing the new counter strike source at the mo. It's quite good fun. There are some people who are too good though. I think it's good that I haven't found the ultimate online game, because if I did, I might spend most of my life on there! nooo! Then my brain would probably melt. -------------------- 'Let that be a lesson to all oppressive vegetable sellers.' |

My favorite would be Battlefield 1942, but I never actually played it online a'fore. I played it at school through the LAN. The only one I play online would be Wolfenstien Enemy Territories, which isn't as good, but it's the only one I can get my computer to actually connect online.

I'm surprised I didn't mention this before. CoN broadbanders, mostly chat regulars, play Unreal Tournament 2004 quite regularly on my server, whenever I set it up. It's good to play games with people you interact with on a daily basis.

FFXI - My main character is a Bastokian Hume Monk, Morgeru, on the Kujata server. The other character I share with a friend, Ashitaka, Sandy WAR Elvaan also on Kujata. It's the only pay-to-play game I have ever subscribed too. And the second I've ever played after AO.
I really really loved Anarchy Online, my first dip into MMORPG waters. In a short space of time I had an Adventurer at lvl50 and a Martial Artist at about 25. Then they banned my account for no reason. That was using the completly free Classic version. I've just started playing the 2-week free trial of City of Heroes. I needed something 'instant' like AO to go along with the slower FFXI. It's engine feels exactly like that of AO and has the instant almost arcade-like funfactor, the missions seem far to samey and I'm not sure about the longevity, but a cracking game for a quick bash, and the character creation part is top. I play on the Liberty server, I have a Katana weilding ninja type dude called Morgeru, A shot gun weilding honey called Shadow Wolfe (Kinda taken from Sniper Wolf of Metal Gear Solid fame) and this stupidly massive medievil, mace weilding knight in the most unsubtle white plate armour, called The Paladin of War. ![]() Other than that, www.hollywoodpoker.com is where I practice my Texas Hold 'Em. I've played StarCraft more than any other game in my entire life, so I'll have to rank that first. Nowadays I usually play the LotR games (the best I've found is v. Last Alliance) or WWII: Death in Europe because those games are fiercely competitive sometimes.
I go back and forth between many games, and currently I'm playing WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne (USEast or Azeroth server, TF_Evil-Eye). Surprisingly, my favorite game on there right now is called Final Fantasy Forever, a game that features a Final Fantasy-styled RPG experience, and even includes much of Final Fantasy Music (mostly from Final Fantasy IV, like the battle themes). The greatest part? You can actually save characters. Therefore, you can quit a game completely, exit WC3 altogether, and come online later on and type a code in and you can load that very same character again in its full form. The advantages of this? You don't have to have a consistent party, you can refresh the map for items and monsters, and not have to play with the same people every time, and your character will stay the same from the previous game. I tell ya, it's the most ingenious thing I've discovered so far in any map editor. |

I'm not much into online games now, but I used to play Rise of Nations before my dial-up connection started working like crap.
Right now, I'm using a laptop with a wireless connection, but it doesn't play games online very well. |

I usually play a healthy dosage of Starcraft, UT2k4, Quake, or Ages of Despair. Starcraft and Ages of Despair would have to be my favorites though. I find that lately when I play Starcraft I don't honestly care about the outcome, which infuriates my allies to no end, but given the right mood, i'm pretty badass, or so I like to think. I only fail to knock down the mightiest of players i'm looking at you EvilEye.

I must say Counter Strike is a lot of fun. I haven't played say WoW or FFXI myself, but i've seen people play it and hmmm... I don't know, there's something about online RPGs that don't really work too well for me, because sure it's fun but it's difficult to have an actual decent storyline going on.
For a while I played Ragnarok Online, but I had to quit because that game is really pointless yet addicting that it was taking up too much of my time. I personally don't think it's as good as it's hyped up to be, but it is a fun one to play with close friends I guess. |

And I liked Everquest, but I was in 6th grade at the time. Dark Age of Camelot was fun, Diablo II LOD was a good kick, especially the cows, FFXI was interesting and addicting. -------------------- You're telling me that there's no hope. I'm telling you you're wrong. |

World of Warcraft, City of Heroes, Guild Wars, Starcraft, Warcraft 3 and Counter-Strike. Out of all those, Counter-Strike being my least favorite of these that I play and WoW being my favorite to play.
