After you split up at the first meeting place in North Crater, do you ever get the other guys back without hitting the place where you can't return?

Wasn't such a dumb question. I was wondering the same not so long ago. I didn't want to make it all the way back to the airship to find out that my other party members weren't there.
Also, it's dangerous if you have only Cloud and that his level is a multiple of 4 because of the gargoyles... |

Meh, was trying for the 3rd Mystile, and it was fun, I didn't die at all actually.
