Well, I still cant believe it LOL...

After you defeat Ultros, select Locke's Story, after you met celes. continue till you continue to the room with black wands and ways, in the left corner are stairs which you can go down
Then, you will find in 2 treasures X Ether and X Portion (or familiar to this both) and stay right to the right tresure, just go down, look left, and click. YOU FOUND A TREASURE CHEST WITH RIBBON! still cant believe it - but item was hidden very good - I also remember that there somewhere have been marvel shoos, but unfortunaly I didnt find them yet.

I will make a ss for better understanding wink.gif

The Quad is where you are, the circle where the chest is wink.gif
(You cant get it from the field above because you cant get it through walls of course ^^)

How to get to the room:

Me neither. I haven't even heard of it. I knew I was missing something there.

I found this out a bit earlier when I was watching a video.
I really didn't use the ribbon much in the beginning though.

It's only useful with the cursed shield.

With ZSNES-Emulator it was very simple to find it after I understood that I can find hidden passages in FF 6 if I disable Background 2 (Key: 2)

You did that with an emulator? Does that mean you can't get that secret in the original game on the SNES?

No, it just means that it's easier to see when you can fiddle with the game's graphical layers.

As the original poster himself says, none of this is new or groundbreaking. I am surprised to see how many people weren't aware, though!

Sometimes I can tell a hidden item's there if they make it reaaal obvious.
Other than that,
I can never tell.

I'm no treasure hunter,
I'll give you that.

Also... I never bothered to use the internet.

Really, I wouldn't think of fiddling with my layers, I mean, i know how, but i wouldn't do it unless i suspect something, which I rely on CoN's helpful Walkthrough on that point. happy.gif

I just normally use no walkthroughs tongue.gif

I only used that option this time because I knew that there was something, I found it in earlier games smile.gif
I dont run through the whole world with it, but sometimes I may use it if I suspect it, we'll see.

Really? I've tried that countless times but I've never gotten it to work. It's so frustrating. I can get into the place where it dips down out of view, but I could never find stairs. This is the first time I've seen it.

I'm pretty sure they're the same item, actually. Running shoes are the original name (Snes version, possibly PSX version) while Marvel shoes are the new/translated/Call it what you will name (GBA name)

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong - I really do need to play the game again to re-update myself ^^;

Regardless, you didn't miss anything. Down that flight of stairs there is only two items, if you got those, you've got everything from there.

I seem to remember a couple of hidden items in the Magitek Factory. I think one was an Ice Shield. I never found the other one.
